Sainte-Maxime is a charming seaside town on the Cote d’Azur (Gulf of St Tropez). It benefits from an ideal amount of sunshine (more than 300 days per year). The climate is particularly mild in winter between 12°C and 20 C, warm and airy in summer (30°C on average) and a water temperature between 20°C and 27°C. Walking through paved and cobbled streets you will discover shady squares, provencal markets, an 18th century church with it’s campanile bell tower, shops selling local wine and olives and a few boutiques selling traditional provencal gifts. There is a beautiful port, situated in the centre of the town, 2 minutes walk from the shops and holds in its 2 harbours, public and private, 766 pleasure boats. Regular crossings to Saint-Tropez and other marine excursions are available.Water taxi to St Tropez (8 minutes) is breathtaking. Miles and miles of golden beaches. Family friendly restaurants, a Casino, romantic cruises, beautiful bars in village. House has tranquil, fantastic views.

Notes on accommodation
St Maxime Parc is a development of new Provencal houses and apartments. Our particular plot has four houses in a row, and our house is one of those four. The house is bright, airy, with the most magical views of the Provencal hills. Both the kitchen and living room open out onto a large balcony with table,chairs, parasol, BBQ. Each of the two bedrooms has its own French doors leading onto a beautiful, quiet, sheltered terrace and small garden. There are fans & a portable air con unit. There are 2 pools, one for babies/toddlers, and they are exclusively for the owners in St Maxime Parc. It is our second home, it is a place to unwind, enjoy the views, the smell of pine trees surrounding the house, and only 20 minutes walk to the village, the port, the beaches. Just outside the domain you will find a boulangerie, a few supermarkets and five minutes away a brand new Aqua Park. The location is perfect to explore inland Provence and the coast of Cote d'Azur.

Accessibility
Gradual sloping hill to house means that people who have trouble walking will struggle to walk to the house from the main road and pools. However, driving to the house is easy and you can park outside the door or in a visitor car park.

Outside
Both bedrooms open onto a pretty, small garden and patio with loungers. Kitchen/living room open onto a large balcony, new BBQ, beautiful outdoor furniture. Shared pools with toilets and changing facilities. Every house on St Maxime Parc must pay management fees to keep the pool, changing area, all gardens in excellent condition. Therefore the domain will always look fabulous. Security is also on site with gated drive into the site with a key code. Cycle path to beaches and village. Parking.

Coast/Beach
There is also a beautiful port, situated in the centre of the town, two minutes walk from the shops and holds in its two harbours, public and private, 766 pleasure boats. Regular crossings to Saint-Tropez and other marine excursions are available. Between Easter and September there is a boat trip and a little tourist train to Port-Grimaud. There are boat trips to the Islands of Hyeres, Port Cros, Porquerolles and The Islands of Lerins with a possible stop at Cannes. Miles of golden sand.

Golf
Golf is very popular in Sainte-Maxime. The International Golf of Sainte-Maxime is in a marvellous setting of the garrigue and of cork trees, facing the bay of Saint-Tropez. It is an 18 hole green extending over 65 hectares. With the beautiful sunny days during winter it makes St Maxime a perfect place to enjoy Golf in the winter months as well as the summer.

Skiing
Many people go skiing and St Maxime's tourist board organise day trips by coach to Isola 2000 ski resort. About 2 hours away. Excellent fun for all the family and pick ups are in the village.

Travel
By Road: From Paris via Lyon to Aix-en-Provence by motorway A8 take the Le Muy exit, then to Sainte-Maxime by the RD25.
By Train: TGV stops at Saint-Raphael which is 14 miles away. Coach/taxi to Sainte-Maxime from there.
By Air: Nice International Airport 55 miles away. Car hire at the airport. Coach direct link to Sainte-Raphael and then another coach/taxi onto Sainte-Maxime. Toulon Airport 37 miles away. Coach shuttle to Sainte-Maxime in high season.

Distances
25 mins walking distance to beaches, shops, restaurants, village market, bars, casino. 5 mins by car (ample parking). Two minutes Aqualand and Arbre and Adventure. Two minutes to supermarkets and boulangeries.

Further details
Christmas in the Cote d'Azur is fantastic. From the Christmas Markets in most villages to animations and fireworks, it is beautiful. Monte Carlo prides itself on Christmas activities by the sea with a huge Christmas theme and activities such as Big Wheel, food from all over Europe, Yacht racing, all in beautiful sunshine. Sainte-Maxime is very faithful to its traditions. It has a programme of festivals which are: the first Sunday in February: a mimosa display with flower dressed vehicles. The 1 May: A folklore festival centred around the prettiest and most well behaved little girls in a horse driven carriage. The 15 and 16 May: Procession in the town decorated in blue and white. The 24 June: Festival of the Saint-Jean. The longest day of the year with a lamp light procession, big bonfire on the beach and a firework display. Mid November: Festival of Oil and of Olives where there is olive picking and grinding the olives at the Mill. Provencal Christmas and Christmas market: Crib and local Provencal traditions, traditional local crib figures, traditional Christmas festivities and a big supper with the traditional 13 desserts.

St Maxime has everything you could possibly need. The house is walking distance to the beach, harbour, restaurants or a 4 min drive. The weather is amazing (including winter) and the views are spectacular. Most people re book for the following year. We have the best view of the best sunsets ever seen and sitting on the balcony in this tranquil, peaceful setting is pure heaven!
