L'Esperia is a modern property with stunning views looking down to the town of Amelie les Bains and the River Tech, and across to the foothills of the Pyrenees. The property is built into the hillside and is spread over 4 levels. The ground floor is the garage. Levels 2 & 3 house the main accommodation with 4 Bedrooms sleeping up to 12 people. Private pool, BBQ, balconies and sun terraces. A further two bedrooms on level 1 sleeping an additional 4 people can be made available at extra cost, contact owners for details (These would not be rented by anyone else during your stay).

Notes on accommodation
There is parking space in the garage and further space outside the property. We will provide a welcome pack of essentials on your arrival. No smoking in the property please.
Accessibility
The property is built into the hills which means it is not suitable for wheelchair users or those who have difficulties with stairs.
Outside
Private pool (8m x 3m) with garden and patio area, sun loungers, shade provided by two palm trees. 2 large balcony terraces with tables and chairs, sun umbrellas. A further more secluded patio area. All with views of the mountains.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of the Mediterranean are within easy reach, approx 45 minutes by car. Argeles has long golden beaches and a lively harbour and is under 25 miles away.
Golf
Several courses nearby including Les Falgos.
Travel
Girona airport just over 1 hour, Perpignan airport approx 30 minutes by car. We can arrange pick-up, drop-off at these airports for an additional cost.
Although we would recommend a car to get the most from the surrounding area, there is plenty to do within Amelie les Bains, and there is a coach company providing a choice of day trips if you do not want to drive.

Amelie Les Bains: shops, restaurants, spa, adventure activities less than 1 mile. Ceret: Modern Art Museum, restaurants, supermarket, Saturday morning market, numerous festivals, cherry capital of France 5 miles. Perpignan: Department capital 25 miles. Figueres, Spain: Dali Museum 30 miles.
Further details
Nestled in the valley of the River Tech and enjoying a wonderful climate and beautiful scenery.
Many artists, including Picasso, have made this area their home, especially in the early 20th century, and the Modern Art museum is evidence of this. Many of the paintings show local scenes.
The geography of the area lends itself to many outdoor activities. There are many walking routes, horse riding, canoeing, mountain biking. But for the less adventurous lakes and rivers for sunbathing and picnics.

We are a family of four, who have recently bought a house in France to enjoy holidays with family and friends. We are renting it out so that others may enjoy the many attractions in the local area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We have enjoyed many holidays in various regions of France. We decided to buy in the Languedoc for the 300 days of sunshine; close proximity to both the coast and skiiing, and the beautiful scenery of the Pyranees.
L'Esperia is at the edge of town so it is easy to wander down to get your croissant in the morning, and you have access to all the facilities you might need, including restaurants and a market.
The town is well know for its spas. There are two, one of which offers many beauty treatments.
The town of Amelie les Bains is close to Ceret (less than 10 minutes by car) with its art museum and bustling town centre. During the summer there are often fesitvals taking place.
Unique benefits of the property
The views from L'Esperia are always spectacular. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning sun is such a treat.
There are many activities on offer in the local area. For example swimming in the lakes, kayaking, tubing, caving, mountain bikiing, horse riding or simply relaxing by the pool, enjoying the sunshine.
There are a number of golf clubs nearby.
The beaches of France and spain are approximately half hours drive away.
Further afeild are Barcelona and Carcassone, both worthy of a visit. Also Figueres home to the famous Dali museum
In short Amelie les Bains is a great base for exploring the area, with good access to the motorway system for longer day trips.
