The Languedoc-Roussillon region is one of Europe’s undiscovered gems. Close to the Pyrenees and Mediterranean coast, the region offers miles of sandy beaches with magnificent scenery to explore. The area enjoys 340+ days sunshine a year and offers excellent skiing in winter only 90 minutes drive from the apt. The area is steeped in history, with the medieval town of Carcassonne, Romanesque abbeys, Cathar castles and magical Mount Canigou all within driving distance. Its close proximity to Spain is another plus, with the historic towns of Figueres (Salvador Dali museum) 40 mins and Girona 1 hr 20 away. St Cyprien, which boasts the second largest marina on the Med, is 25 minutes from Perpignan airport and 30 minutes from the Spanish border. St Cyprien has numerous family friendly reasonably priced restaurants, open all year round to cater for the 10000 local inhabitants and holiday makers. Its strong Catalan influence is reflected in the menus and great selection of local wines on offer.

1.Apt v clean, comfortable & in great location. It was very safe for kids+just a few metres frm beach. Within walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, etc but also v peaceful and quiet. If you hire a car, there's many places to visit, from small coastal villages, larger towns/cities, mountains, beaches & NE Spain. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this apt for a holiday or as a base to sightsee. E&L Corry, Ennis

2.We stayed in this lovely clean apt in St Cyp last year with our 2 young children and had a fabulous time. The apt was at the end of a cul-de-sac just off the beach. The boating marina along the rear of the apt block, beach out front and short distance to the local shopping & eating area across the lagoon made it an ideal base for day and evening activities. There was plenty of sights nearby to visit, but with some much to do where we were we didn't need to! P&N OSullivan,Cork.

Owner profile

About the owner
We live in Dublin, Ireland with our children. We have holidayed in this area since 2002 and are still finding new places to see and things to do! It's an ideal base to explore both France and Spain. The people are really friendly and the way of life is so relaxed. The food and wine are fabulous and very good value too! We head over to St Cyprien a few times a year. It's lovely during off peak season too. We've gone skiing too up in Font Romeu which is fantastic! Michelle and Phelim.

Year purchased: 2006

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We visited the area in 2002 when we stayed in a campsite in Argeles sur Mer (the next town to St Cyprien) and absolutely loved it! It's such a good base to explore France and Spain. You can spend your day by the pool or on the beach or up the mountains. There is literally miles of unspoilt beaches so you can relax in peace or you can enjoy the bustle around the port area..Having Aqualand on your doorstep is such an bonus. It's a great day out for all ages (and they do a 2 day special!). I've been on holidays in places where people have travelled an hour or two to get to waterparks! It's also great to have the beach literally across the road. There's so much choice of beaches so you can visit a different one each day..Canet, Argeles Sur Mer with its lovely promenade, St Cyprien Plage...

Unique benefits of the property

Lovely old village of St Cyprien with shops, restaurants, bars. So close to many vineyards with great local wine. Excellent for cycling. Choice of beautiful beaches.
