Changeover day
Changeover day is a Saturday between May and September; flexible at other times. Arrival time is after 3pm and departure by 11am on the last day of your booking. The property manager will be on hand to welcome you and show you the details of the property.

Accessibility
The garden is located at the border of the Canal du midi . Whenever you are in the Spa you can see the canal. You can organise very pleasant picnics. The garden with the safe swimming pool is very pleasant. You can enjoy a leisurely lunch sheltered from the hot midday sun. The swimming pool is 11X4.5 metres and the depth starts from 1,10 metres, gradually going to 1,70 metres depth.
Outside
A 2 minute drive will take you to Fontet, a lake with a man made sandy beach which has supervised bathing, a large park and a cafe, there are also walks and safe cycle trails along the canal leading to the River Garonne. A 35 minute drive will take you to Blasimon a fresh water lake with a nice sandy beach, again with supervised bathing. There are also dedicated fishing areas around the lake. The beaches and sand dunes of Arcachon are approx 1½ hours drive from the house.
Coast/Beach

There are many golf courses around the area. The fantastic Chateau des Vigiers Golf and Country Club, with restaurant, is a 30 minute drive away. This top end famous 18 hole course was created by Donald Steel. The Chateau dates back to 1597 and is set in 450 acres of beautiful countryside.

Sea fishing/angling can be arranged on demand! We can provide you a unique fishing experience on a 9m boat. and/or You will be able to discover the Bassin d'Arcachon and the fascinating Pyla's Dune. We can also arrange for you beauty treatment/Thaï massage.
Travel
Bordeaux Merignac is the closest airport to the house at 1 hour away, with Bergerac airport just over 1 hour. Toulouse airport is exactly 2 hours away. Car hire is advisable and available at each of the above mentioned airports. By car: Dependant on the route taken - Le Havre is a 450 mile drive. Caen is a 420 mile drive and Calais is a 600 mile drive. By train: TGV at Bordeaux is around an hour away or 30 minutes away in Libourne.
Distances
We are located at 5 kilometres from La Réole a medieval town. A 20 kilometres drive will make you discover the historic bastide town of Monsegur. Sauveterre de Guyenne 16 kilometres away, has a weekly market providing a cornucopia of fresh produce. St. Emilion is a 30 minute drive through the vineyards of Bordeaux and Perigeux is a 50 minute drive. The centre of Bordeaux is only 45 minutes away.
Further details
La Réole is a pretty medieval town set at the border of the River La Garonne, where its borders host a weekly market. There are cafes, restaurants, boulangeries, pharmacy, hypermarkets, banks and popular pizzeria/restaurant, which hosts weekly live music. There is also a fantastic chocolatier that makes the delicious and extravagant home made chocolate for miles. This picturesque small town retains some of its old Ramparts dating back to the 13th century. The local tourist information office is in the town centre. Locally there are many historic sites and attractions and we do provide many leaflets, books and information of what's on in the area, along with maps/directions of local hiking and riding routes. The famous Monsegur '24hrs of Swing' jazz festival. La Réole is also a medieval town with the oldest town hall in France built by Richard the 1st. You can also have parachute drop from 4000 metres in La Réole.
Booking notes
You will be required to pay a 25% deposit on confirmation of your booking, with the balance due within 6 weeks of the starting date of your stay. A refundable security deposit of £250 will be payable with the balance of your booking.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought this property 17 years ago. We were looking for a property to buy near the "canal du midi" with a big garden. First of all, we love the area for the weather, the peaceful neighbourhood, and the multitude of activities we can have access to thanks to the geographical situation.
Unique benefits of the property
We have a very big property that allows us to do gardening, sport, handiwork, artwork, music,family gathering, watching TV etc. What we enjoy most is the jacuzzi (all year long) and the swimming-pool. You won't be able to find such location with such ultimate comfort in the area. We built the house for our optimum comfort and would like to share it with you.
