Domaine les Tisseyres is a charming country residence set in the midst of idyllic landscape 25 minutes from Carcassonne and 1 hour from Toulouse. The rolling hills around Fanjeaux are famed for their beauty and this is an opportune spot to visit the Cathar castles, medieval Carcassonne, beautiful towns such as Limoux and Mirepoix with the Med coast and the Pyrenees only 45mins drive away. Or you may simply wish to make the most of our lovely climate relaxing by the pool, enjoying bbqs on the terrace and going for walks in the hills right on our doorstep. For the active, we can recommend places to go horse-riding, hiking or descend into underground grottos and can recommend good places for wine tasting and sampling the local cuisine. This is not so much a gite as a fully fledged home, lovingly restored and furnished with local antiques and curiosities, complemented by an outdoor space able to keep kids and adults alike happy for many hours in the summer sun.

Please note that prices given are for a group of 10. As a guide for larger groups, in high season we charge €2875 for 12 and €3075 for 14 people.

Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Very spacious master bedroom plus twin room and single room at the top of the house. Second master bedroom plus twin room on the first floor. Various combinations of doubles, singles, children's beds + cots available. Spaciously sleeps 10, maximum is 14. |
| Bathrooms: | Two stylish bathrooms (one wood paneled, one tiled in local style), both with showers. One containing a WC, the other a separate adjoining WC. |
| Kitchen: | Summer kitchen made of locally sourced, re-claimed materials (antique tiles, cupboards custom made from shutters) opening up onto the terraced pool area. Country house feel combined with all mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, hob etc). |
| Utility Room: | All utility equipment is set into the kitchen space. |
| Living Rooms: | The house boasts both a spacious dining area as well as a separate living room containing TV, DVD player, ample library and games. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
We provide all towels and linen. Cleaning is done after departure with a €85 cleaning charge on top of the rental bill. If you book for 2 weeks we insist on a mid-Saturday clean as well to ensure good upkeep of the property. |

Notes on accommodation
The house is only rented to one group of guests at a time so all facilities are yours to use exclusively. The owners, who live on site in a separate part of the house, reserve the right to use the pool at their own discretion and endeavour to do so being sensitive to the guests.
Accessibility
We apologise but due to the old nature of the residency we cannot recommend a stay to the mobility impaired.
Outside
Very spacious terrace and pool area encompassing a basketball hoop, table tennis table, sun loungers and stunning view over the valley below. There is a private garden with a large lawn for ball games, croquet and the like. Pool dimension: 13m x 6m with a brand new liner for 2012.
Coast/Beach
The expansive sandy beaches of Narbonne are a 45 min drive down the motorway. Windsurfing and kiteboarding a possibility. Going an extra 10 minutes up the coast gets you to the picturesque seaside town of Gruissan.

Travel
Flights to Carcassonne airport (25min drive to the house) using Ryan Air from Stansted, Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, East Midlands, Leeds, Bradford, Liverpool.
Flights to Toulouse airport (1 hour drive) using EasyJet from Bristol and Gatwick. BMI and FlyBe also operate.
RyanAir also fly Luton to Beziers (1h 15 min drive to the house).
We are just 7 minutes drive from the A61 motorway.

20 mins – Limoux & Mirepoix, charming towns.
25 mins – Carcassonne, medieval city.
45 mins - Narbonne & Narbonne Plage.

Booking notes
Between May and October we are available on a weekly basis. You can arrive anytime after 4pm on Saturday and have to vacate the following Saturday by 10am. The following are included in the rental price: electricity, gas and water use of bed linen, bath and pool towels. Cleaning costs are not included, amounting to €85 per week. A 30% deposit of the overall total is payable on booking (non refundable). The balance is due 8 weeks before your arrival.

We are a family of three from the UK who moved to Fanjeaux in December 2010. Approaching our mid 30s we decided to up sticks to France in the Spring of 2010 with our 1 year old and haven't looked back. We hope you will come and enjoy this little gem of a spot so close to a myriad of sites and activities.

A stunning combination of calm and tranquility yet very accessible and active (skiing, Toulouse, wine tasting). The proximity of Carcassonne with its summer music festivals and all year round culture at Toulouse coupled with the benefits of the quiet countryside and village lifestyle of Fanjeaux was too good to resist.

A magnificent view over varied landscapes (valleys, rolling hills, sunflowers). Complete serenity and quiet yet short drives to various sites and activities. Lovely little boutiques and restaurants in Carcassonne and a variety of local antique and brocante shops for those who like the rural French style.
