Many internationally renown golf courses. Chamonix golf course is situated under the lea of the famous 'Dru' range- drive 30 yards further in the light mountain air! Megeve golf course has well groomed fairways that become the piste in winter. Golf range for practice down the road in Contamines in the heart of a beautiful leisure park - leave the children and practice!
Skiing
The Mont Blanc area is one of the most scenic and famous of all the ski areas of France. There is a huge skiing area is accessed from cabin at St Gervais which is literally just across the road from the chalet. It includes the Savoyard village of Saint Nicolas and links with the sophisticated resort of Megeve with its extensive well groomed pistes where you can mix with the rich and famous. The ski pass includes also the Combloux area (a mini Canada) where you can ski through the beautiful tree lined runs and also Les Contamines and Les Houches. Contamines is a real contrast, being very high, no trees, but an excellent snow record, or take the rack railway (where they start the climb to the summit) up to the slopes of Les Houches part of the Chamonix complex - with Mont Blanc forming a breathtaking backdrop. If you want variety or an adrenalin rush there is Chamonix (25 min), Flaine (45 mins) Morzine (45 mins) and many smaller resorts.
Special interest holidays
The whole region is magnificent for walking and trekking holidays and is in a superb position for commencing the renown Tour de Mont Blanc trek to Switzerland. The paths and balisades on the Mont Blanc range are well marked. Or take one of the many guided walks wth one of the experienced moutain guides as at the St Gervais Tourist Office for info. Sample the delights of french cookery at its best in some of the delicious cordon bleu restaurants in the area.

Or you could take the cable car (or ski) down the Vallee Blanche which takes you across the range from the summit of the Aiguille du Midi and into Italy across a valley of eternal snow (fantastic!). Megeve is chocolate box pretty and its mouth-watering restaurants and designer shops are definitely worth a visit.
