Thank you so much for letting your home to us, we all had a brilliant time. Over the past 17 years or so we have stayed in many places and your home has to be one of the best! Simply, stylishly decorated and completely practical for a family of 4.

Malloy Family Ireland - returning for the second time 2010

Again, we had a super time and relaxed in comfort! Elaine (cleaner) was so helpful and friendly. My father, aged 88, was most reluctant to leave at the end of his stay; he finds the quiet, peace and comfort wonderful, and enjoyed having his whole family around. THANK YOU

Owner profile

Stuart, Sandra and our son Luke

About the owner
Stuart, Sandra and our 14 year old son live in Somerset in the south west of England, very close to Glastonbury. We love France and the very relaxed lifestyle and bought our farmhouse and gite in 2005. We love to spend time in France but are restricted with being able to get away from work, but we look forward to the time when we can spend more time in france. We have had some fantastic times with our french neighbours, who are so freindly and help us to look after the house while we are back in the UK. We have had some special evenings with our neighbours including eating snails picked from our own garden. The property is a very peaceful place, where you can relax in peace and quiet taking in the fabulous views. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We spent about 3 years looking for our property starting in the Dordogne, and then moving up to the Charente Maritime. We love the Charente as it is ideal for beaches, great French towns, with countryside full of sunflowers and vines, making you feel as if you are really engrossed in the french countryside. Well placed, and easy to get to in a day, not too far down from the ports or easy access to airports, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Limoges, Poitiers and Angueleme.

Unique benefits of the property
We have had some wonderful comments from our guests, and many return bookings. As it is our second home, you will find all the little gadgets to make your stay easy, and hopefully not wanting for anything. We do ask all out guests after they have visited how we could improve and after 5 years of visitors, we think you will find all that you need.
