One hour drive from nearest airports - Poitiers, La Rochelle 1 mile from nearest village Aulnay and 10 miles from nearest town Saint Jean d'Angely.

Changeover day
Saturday in high season is a regular changeover day. There might be more flexibility in days for any bookings off peak. We would ask guests to have left by 10.00 am.

Notes on accommodation
Our home is delightful, warm and welcoming - it is very much in French country style and we offer a large file with local information on visits and places of interest and also we have a good supply of books, magazines and some childrens books and games. We have just undergone extensive maintenance refurbishment having a new roof, heating installed for our pool and new ensuite shower room.
Accessibility
The master bedroom is on the ground floor and is very good size - and has main family shower room immediately next door. It does also have an en-suite but would not be suitable for people with mobility problems as there are stairs down to it from bedroom. There are no steps involved in accessing the property outside or to gain entrance into the house. We do not have any specific adaptions for wheelchair users.
Outside
We have a lovely sized garden with 6-8 sun loungers available for use, a barbecue, large table and chairs and bench and sundry small cafe tables and chairs for outside use. The swimming pool is heated and delightful and oval in shape and has steps down to shallow end - which is about 3' - deep - 6' - 6' 6"
in deep end - it will be fenced in securely for children and toddler safety. I will be purchasing swings, slides etc for children to use whilst in residence. There is parking at both ends of the garden for up to 4 - 5 cars.
We welcome dogs - max 2 but must ask if you do decide to bring your pets that they are not allowed in the swimming pool as this makes for an enormous amount of extra work for the gentleman who is responsible for the cleaning of our pool and who does such a sterling job for us.
We would ask visitors, if they use the barbecue whilst staying, please ensure it is cleaned after use.

About the owner
We have owned 'The Farmhouse' for approx 15 years. We live on the south coast in the UK. We have tried to decorate the house in somewhat traditional French style - I particularly love the 'French country' - shabby chic feel to a house so thoroughly enjoyed the whole exercise. We have also tried to keep the house competitive in rental prices over the years. We have always had a website for the house but in previous years have just used 'classifieds' to rent out for holidays. This is our first year with 'Owners Direct' and are hoping for a fruitful rewarding one!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought in this location because of the outstanding beauty of the countryside. The micro climate mirroring that of the south of France with its enviable hot summers and also being so accessible by road from the UK and also being under one hour drive from the nearest coastal resorts.
We also love the welcoming, friendly nature of the French people who live in this area.
