Set in enchanting, south facing wooded grounds, Annotte is a charmingly converted farmhouse in the Heart of the Haute Garonne. Situated within 3.5 acres of secluded gardens, orchard and woodland, on it's own quiet hilltop; the house is the perfect holiday retreat for a large family or group. It offers peace, privacy and tranquility as well as superb outdoor space for adults and children alike to explore and enjoy. There are breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys from the house and at the end of the road are stunning views of the Pyrenees. Just an hour from the pink city of Toulouse and the majestic Pyrenees, many will recognise this area from Rick Steins French odyssey on BBC2. There are many fine restaurants and bars, and the relaxing atmosphere is typical of rural France.

Changeover day
Saturday is our usual changeover date. Arrival after 5pm and departure by 11am to enable the house to be fully cleaned.

Notes on accommodation
The property is mainly constructed on the ground floor with most bedrooms branching of a long corridor. There is an upstairs double bedroom and bathroom. There is a cot and high chair for the little ones.

Outside
The house is reached by driving about ½ mile along its own road. It is completely secluded and there are no other properties in the immediate area. There is woodland with many old oak trees, wild flowers hundreds of butterflies and a large circular BBQ. There is also an orchard which has cherry, plum, apple, pear, quince and nectarine trees. Vines surround the front of the house and George - our local gardener, tends the lavender, chrysanthemums and other flowers which circle the house. There is a large open side barn which is adjacent to the swimming pool (10 x 5m) and this is an ideal shady spot for cooling down in the afternoon heat. The barn is equipped with a large table (seats 12) and is the perfect location for an evening meal, or BBQ. There is a table tennis table, goal posts, pool equipment and furniture and swings.
Coast/Beach
Biarritz is about 2 hours drive away and San Sebastian in Spain is about 2¼ hours away.
Golf
There are at least 20 golf courses all within an hours drive, more details available on request.
Skiing
There are many ski resorts within a 1¼ hours drive. The most famous being La Mongi, Luchon, Bareges and Superbagnes. Andorra is about 1¾ hours away.
Special interest holidays
Alison will be offering print making courses in the Autumn of 2006, but this is a great place for artists and writers to stay. The American poet 'Coburn Brittan' once lived in this house. This is a great place for walkers and cyclists, and the Tour de France passes close to the house every year. This year it was at the end of the road!!
Travel
Toulouse is the nearest airport and is about 50 mins drive away. Carcasonne and Pau airports are both about 1½ hour away. Bordeaux airport is about 2½ hours away. Most channel ports are about 8 hours drive away, But Bilbao and Santander are about 3 hours drive away.
Distances
There are lots of local places of interest. Toulose City centre is about 50 mins away. Toulouse is the home of Airbus and the new double decker plane can occasionally be seen in the skies. The European Space Agencies Headquarters are also in Toulouse and both these places are well worth a trip. There are many beautiful churches castles and historic towns in the area, and Lourdes is just over an hour away. No trip to this area would be complete without a trip into the Pyrenees, 1 hour away.
Further details
As Annotte is in a rural location a car is essential. The 2 local villages Aurignac and Le Fouserret are both 10 mins drive away. They both have small supermarkets, good restaurants, bars and local markets. Bigger towns like Boulogne sur Gesse, Cazers and Isle et Dondon are about 15 - 20 mins away and have more shops, bars and restaurants.
