Owner profile
Our Boys-Merlot and Muscat-much prettier than us!
About the owner
We moved here in July 2010 from a village in Devon with our two Burmese Cats, Merlot and Muscat - taking over Les Glycines Gites. We wanted to develop a completely different lifestyle and business activity, following years of self-employment in the UK. For over 20 years, Anne ran Heaven Scent Herbs, a small speciality Mustard manufacturer. Ray was an Education and Training consultant. Customer experience and satisfaction have always been central to our business ethos and this is our paramount aim as we develop our new venture.
Year purchased: 2010
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We have always loved the French lifestyle, food and drink, so the Country was easy! Having viewed many properties, it was the peaceful rural setting of Les Glycines which made it our choice. Researching the area proved that the location was not only easily accessible, but it was central to an amazing range of attractions and activities for visitors. The gently rolling landscape gives delightful views across fields, woods and orchards, and there is an abundance of wildlife.
Unique benefits of the property
Les Glycines Gites whilst in the beautiful, wooded Jincheres Valley, is within easy reach of all main facilities, including a number of weekly markets. A number of walks begin right on our doorstep, and you may be lucky enough to spot a family of Roe Deer, Red Squirrels and the wheeling Buzzards overhead. It is the sheer peacefulness of the location which you experience as soon as you arrive that makes this a very special location for us and our Guests.
