La Rocheuse is the self contained ground floor of the owners traditional stone built house with its own private access and terrace. The terrace is south facing, sunny and comes equipped with table and chairs, perfect for those "al fresco" meals, sun loungers and sun-shade for relaxing with that pile of holiday reading and a glass of wine. Set in the peaceful village of St Martin des Puits, La Rocheuse has superb views of the surrounding hills and the River Orbieu, where during the summer you can find wonderful clear pools for swimming. It is a 15 minute drive from the mediaeval town of Lagrasse with its shops, boulangerie restaurants and ATM. There is wonderful walking from the front door or use the Gites Corbiere Walking and Driving Guide to lead you to some of the less well known gems. The Mediterranean coast is under an hour away. We are 30 minutes south of Autoroute A61,about 1 hour from Carcassonne and Perpignan Airports and 2 hours from Toulouse and Girona (Spain) Airports.

Prices in UK pounds per week. All prices include electricity and fuel except for the winter period when electricity is charged extra at cost. All prices included linen. For longer bookingf especially over the winter please contact us for special rates. Payment may be made in either Pounds Sterling or Euros.
Changeover day
We can be flexible. Your holiday will begin at 5.00pm on the first day and finish at 10.00am on the last. We live on site so will be there to greet you on your arrival answer any questions and return your deposit.

Notes on accommodation
La Rocheuse is part of a very old building. There are steps between rooms and low internal doorways. The bedroom ceiling is low. Heating is by wall mounted convector heaters and the windows are double-glazed making La Rocheuse perfect for all year round use.

Outside
The outside terrace has been designed with comfort in mind. Part of it is sheltered by a pergola creating a dappled shade, whilst there is sunshine for those wanting to tan. Coast/Beach
5 minutes away are the crystal clear pools of the River Orbieu, 15 minutes drive to the river pools at Lagrasse and Ribaulte.
The mediterranean beaches of Narbonne Plage, Gruissan, Port La Nouvelle and La Franqui are only an hours drive away.
Travel
Carcassonne and Perpignan Airports (1hour drive).
Toulouse, Nimes, Montpellier and Girona(Spain) 2 hours by Autoroute.
Motor-rail to Narbonne (1 hour drive).
Autoroute A61 (45 minutes away).
Train stations at Narbonne and Carcassonne, but a car is essential.
Distances
Lagrasse, 15 minutes away has commerce and ATM, as does nearby St Laurent.
Lezignan has a superb local market and a range of supermarkets.
Narbonne and Carcassonne are both big town with all facilities and are about 1 hour away.
There is a good selection of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and bugets within half an hours drive.

La Rocheuse has been tastefully decorated throughout with a blend of old and new, retaining much of the original character of the building with beams, wooden floors and stone walls carefully combined with all of the comforts of a modern apartment St Martin des Puits is in the heart of the dramatic scenery of the hills of the Corbieres, an area steeped in natural and cultural history, with the Cathar strongholds of Termes, Queribus and Peyreperteuse perched precariously on rocky limestone outcrops. Close by is the mediaeval town of Lagrasse with its Abbey. Not forgetting Rennes le Chateau and its connections with "The De Vinci Code". The diversity and aroma of plants especially in the spring and autumn is breathtaking. La Rocheuse is a perfect base from which to explore either on foot or by car. Experience the fabulous colours of the vineyards in October and November. Taste their product all year round! Visit the Disneyesque city of Carcassonne, the sophistication od Narbonne and Toulouse, the Contemporary Art Galleries at Ceret, Banyols, Hammeau du Lac. Laze on the beaches of the Mediterranean or the banks of the rivers. Follow one of the many VTT trails. Visit the weekly markets at Lezignan and Narbonne for that very French experience. Booking notes
Initial reservation by telephone or email. This will be held for 10 days pending receipt of a signed booking form and non refundable deposit of 25%, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before the start of your hoiday.
A damage deposit of £100 cash is payable on arrival to be refunded on your departure.
