Set in a peaceful and tranquil setting this is the ideal 'get away from it all' location and yet is close to all amenities and attractions if needed. Fishing available in our lake. The property offers spacious and comfortable accomodation arranged on 3 floors and is ideal for 2 or 3 families. On each floor there is one double and one twin bedded room. However, because of the design of the house, it is equally suited to a smaller group and at our off season prices, well within reach. It has a fully equipped kitchen, 6 bedrooms, (4 with en-suite facilities - 2 bedrooms share an adjacant bathroom) a large games room and a huge dining/sitting room. All windows offer views over open countryside. Bedroom windows have fitted fly screens. The 10m x 5m pool is 1.5m deep, flat bottomed, fenced and alarmed and is for your private use. The gate to the pool area has a lock. The garden is also fenced in and contains swings and a covered sand pit for little ones. Bicycles for all ages are provided.

Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day. The property must be vacated by 10am and you should try not to arrive before 5pm. Out of season we can be flexible on changeover day.

On arrival, a complimentary food and drink welcome pack will await you. This includes a home-made meal comprising: quiche, salad and raspberry pavlova. So you can start to relax immediately. All towels (bathroom and swimming) and linen are included. |
Notes on accommodation
Fans are provided in each room together with English plug extension sockets. The rear garden is fenced in and steps are gated, making it safe for little ones. One cot on each floor + 3 highchairs included.

Outside
At Fombel you will find peace and tranquility. Usually the only noise is from the wildlife. The covered balcony to the front of the property faces west and here you can sit and watch the sun go down and after dark gaze at the stars. (No light pollution here) The 10m x 5m pool is private, 1.5m deep and is flat bottomed (ideal for pool games) and is for your exclusive use. It is maintained daily by the owners who live nearby. You can walk through the woods to the village or use the bicycles provided via the country lane. A golf driving net and fishing rods are also available.There is a small rowing boat on the lake where you can fish (carp). It is ideal cycling country (undulating but not too hilly!). Large BBQ and childrens play equipment. The garden surrounds the property and is securely fenced in so young ones cannot wander. The pool is also fenced and gated as well as being protected by a regulation pool alarm. The outside steps have safety gates at the top.
Coast/Beach
Coast at La Rochelle, Ile d'Oleron and Ile de Re is 90 minutes by car. Wonderful sandy beaches.
Golf
Several excellent golf courses are available in the region. They are all about 1 hour away by car. Further details can be provided on request.
Travel
Poitier (Ryan Air) is 45 minutes. Limoges (Ryan Air) is 60 minutes and La Rochelle is 90 minutes. All by car. Bicycles are available to borrow but a car is essential if you want to go further than the village. Easy car journey from Boulogne via Rouen, now the A28 motorway from Rouen to Tours is open(About 6 hours plus stops).
Distances
Genouille - Bar, Boulangerie and Tennis 2km. Civray, Banks, restaurants, supermarkets, public swimming pool, canoeing etc is 7km. Poitiers and Angoueleme are about 45 minutes. See links from our website to other attactions.
Further details
Twice weekly market in Civray and markets in other nearby towns also weekly. Quadbiking and 4x4, horseriding (all levels) canoeing, velo rail all available in the locality.

Phone or email in the first instance to check availability. Booking form and terms and conditions can be printed off our own website. 25% deposit (non-refundable) with booking. Balance and security deposit of £250 is payable 8 weeks before the holiday starts.
