Situated in the Purple Perigord, 'Le Puit de Vouex' is a lovely stone house in the centre of a tranquil rural hamlet, approximately 4km from Issigeac. This medieval town is full of ancient charm with a busy Sunday morning market. Bergerac is just a 20 minute drive away, with all modern amenities and entertainments as well as some beautifully restored areas of historic interest, particularly in the old quarter near the banks of the Dordogne river. This is a totally unspoilt area of rolling countryside, vineyards and orchards. The chateau of Monbazillac is nearby, as are several interesting medieval bastides. Many outdoor activities can be enjoyed such as walking, cycling, canoeing, golf, tennis and exploring the quaint towns and villages or you can just relax in the complete serenity of the hamlet itself.

Outside
There is a large attractive garden, laid mainly to lawn, with purpose built barbecue, excellent privacy and within the garden is a well, from which the house gets its name. The fully fenced 10m x 5m swimming pool is for your sole use and has lighting for evening swimming. There is a good selection of garden furniture for comfortable outdoor dining, and sunloungers are provided also. The patio, garden and pool area enjoy sunshine throughout the day and evening while gentle shade is provided by shrubs and fruit trees.
Travel
Bergerac airport is 10 minutes by car - flights from Stansted, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and several other airports in summer. Roscoff Port is an 8 hour drive.

Hi Peter &Jo, Just a brief note of thanks to say just how much the whole family enjoyed our stay at La Puit. We found the property to be most comfortable and the decor and furnishings to be both very tasteful and most suitable for our group of seven. We had a super stay and Grandson Benjamin has already asked if we plan to return next year-- he thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience ,especially the pool and the space he had to play his games of football.Both Gina and Andy were very helpful;unobstrusive, yet available on the 2 occasions that we needed them.
The whole holiday and the locality were very restful and most relaxing.Our overall reaction was that the property was superb and we were quite envious of you. Should we win the lottery we will be back in touch! Again, our grateful thanks . David,Carmen and family
