The detached stone house has been recently renovated to its present form with oak beams and original features. It is situated in an elevated position in a quiet country lane between 2 villages with lots of beautiful walks along the river Erve, Medieval Sainte Susanne, Grottes et Canyon de Saulges and many local chateaux. We are 30 minutes from Le Mans and the historic 24 hour circuit and museum.

Changeover day
Changeover day is usually Saturday arrival after 4pm, departure by 10am. Other times by special arrangement.

Dogs are accepted, but will be required to sleep in our purpose built kennels and may also be able to stay during the day, with us, if required.

The terrace has table, chairs and barbecue, There is a large private garden next to the enclosed private swimming pool area (12x24ft above ground pool).

The nearest coastal beaches are 90minutes drive. Man made beaches 15 minutes drive.
Golf
There are 3 golf courses with 30 minutes, Laval, Le Mans and Sable sur Sarthe.
Travel
Tours airport 1 hour 30m, Dinard and Nantes airports 2 hours. St Malo and Caen ports 2 hours. Le Harve and Dieppe 3hours. Paris by TGV from Le Mans 55minutes. Car is essential.
Distances
Thorigne en charnie and St pierre sur erve within 1 mile. Sainte Suzanne 7 miles. Evron, Sable sur sarthe 14 miles. Le Mans, Laval, Mayenne within 25 miles. The Loire river 1 hour.
Booking notes
All payments are by cheque. A deposit of £100 is required to confirm a booking. Full payment for the rental period is required 6 weeks in advance otherwise the booking will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited. The deposit will be returned 1 week after the end of the rental period provided the house was left in a satisfactory state. Full details on application.

During the past few weeks since the gite has been finished we have had several guest stay on their way south, and we are glad to say they all did not want to leave! One family rang when they returned home to say they would love to stay next year, very good news for us. Guest comments

The gite itself has been skilfully and lovingly renovated and with every attention to detail. We were very comfortable and extremely happy staying with you and it was great having you nearby to tell us about the area and we appreciated your friendliness.
The children loved saying hello to all the animals and exploring the grounds. We fell in love with the whole area, and had a magical evening out in Sainte Suzanne and a delicious meal, but we equally enjoyed sitting on the terrace and eating our breakfast looking at the beautiful view from the gite. We want to come back next year, please?!

About the owner
We moved here last year with our horses and dogs for a more tranquil, slower pace of life. Since then we havent stopped! so much to do and see, we are thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The gite has just been finished and seems to be a great success, even booked for next year by a family who stayed on their way to the south and didn't want to leave, very good news for us. We have also introduced a small kennels and cattery within our property with boarding as part of the family for others pets, which we did in England for many years, and the odd litter of jack russel cross pups.
We inherited with the property 2 old moutons and in the pond a friendly turtle (turtolino) Everyone seems to be very happy here!!
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought our property 2 years ago but did not move here permanently till last summer. The countryside is beautiful and we have 8 acres and a lovely property, 2 houses, barns, pond, swimming pool all in a courtyard with panoramic views of surounding villages and countryside, what more could anyone ask for! But still only 5 minutes from major routes. The Mayenne is in easy reach of main ports, Paris, the Loire river, Atlantic coast, with many historic features.

We enjoy horse riding, cycling, walking, horse racing and motor racing and many other activities, all within 30 minutes of our home.
