Relax in the unspoilt countryside of the Limousin, especially at Laplaud Farmhouse where a haven of peace and tranquillity await you. A warm welcome awaits you on our small 50 acre farm where we have a large garden where fruit and vegetables are grown and used to create good quality delicious evening meals which are served in the dining room or on warm barmy evenings in the garden. We moved to the Haute-Vienne in January 2005 from Devon. The farmhouse has been lovingly restored, and now houses three quality quest bedrooms all with central heating and en-suite facilities. We have a large lounge where you can sit and relax with us.

Owner profile
About the owner
I moved to France 5 years ago with my husband Arthur. We used to live in Devon and had our own plant nursery which was open to the public 7 days a week so after 20+ years we decided to sell up and come to France which we both love. We decided we would like to run a small farm and start a B&B because I used to help my parents with their farm and farmhouse B&B when I was still at school. So thats why we bought a small farm and renovated the house which now has 3 en-suite large bedrooms. We enjoy having lots of nice people staying with us from around the world. We continued to run the farm for 5 years until Arthur retired. We farmed the famous limousine cows and calves. We sold all the animals to our neighbouring farmer who now farms the land.
Year purchased: 2005
Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
We bought Laplaud because we thought the surrounding countryside is very much like the green hills and rivers of Devon. It is very quiet here, not much traffic yet still close to the beautiful town of St. Yrieix la Perche which has everything we need. It has recently opened a sport complex with a large indoor heating swimming pool. Laplaud is very easy to find and has tarmac roads right to our property.
Unique benefits of the property
When you stay here you will enjoy the lovely green area which borders the Natural Regional Park of Périgord-Limousin, and is a favourite holiday location for nature lovers.
Its landscape of rolling hills, pastures and woodlands is a delightful venue for walking, cycling or traffic free driving in the countryside, where you may explore charming villages, with their typical barns made of stones quarried from limestone or crystalline bedrocks, and taste delicious regional specialities such as foie gras and tarts made with local apples.
On your doorstep you will find many chemins (lanes) and pathways suitable for walking and cycling and offering easy access to the loveliest countryside where you can enjoy the area’s flora and fauna.
