It is situated in the popular Limousin area in the district of the Haute Vienne. The house dates from 1626 and has undergone a complete renovation, retaining many of its original features. The property and the region are ideally suited to families; outdoor adventurers retired couples, business people who fancy a week away from the office and writers who want to ‘get away from it all’.

Cancellation policy. If you cancel you booking once it has been confirmed, I must be informed in writing. Where such notice is received the following charges will apply: More than 6 weeks from arrival date deposit. 6 weeks and less from arrival date – 100% of total cost. Weekend rate is £215 incl. Fri. Sat. and Sun. night.
Changeover day
Changeover day Saturday.Some flexibility is available. Arrival after 15:00 hours Departure by 11:00hours. Times can be flexible depending on whether the property has been occupied the previous week and depending on your flight/ arrival time.
| Bedrooms: | On the second floor are 2 double rooms. The upper floor is a large converted attic with double room and en-suite bath and shower. |
| Bathrooms: | On the second floor is a bathroom with large walk-in shower and small bath. The upper floor has an en-suite bath and shower. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with electric cooker, gas hob, extractor, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of equipment to cook some fine cuisine. |
| Utility Room: | The kitchen leads into a utility consisting of a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and downstairs toilet. |
| Living Rooms: | The front door leads to an open plan lounge and dining room with wood burning fire for those cosy Autumn and Winter evenings in. A TV with British channels, DVD player and video are provided. There are a number of board games and films to watch. |

Accessibility
There are not any downstairs bedrooms. Bathrooms are on the first and second floors. A toilet and washing facilities are available on the ground floor.
Access into the property is via the garden and front door. Both have 3 steps leading into the house.
Outside
Outside, French doors lead onto a patio area and into a pretty garden; a delight with lots of flowers, a pond and shrubs as well as a couple of mature trees for shade from the summer heat. Garden furniture, table, chairs and loungers are provided as well as a BBQ.
Coast/Beach
The location is rural and inland. However, this quaint cottage is situated 3 miles (5km) from Lac St. Pardoux – one of the largest leisure Lakes in the region which boasts 3 beach areas, a sailing club and water skiing. In the opposite direction, and less than a mile away, is an enormous fishing lake. The area is also renowned for road cycling, mountain biking, golfing, hiking and has over 2000 fishing ponds and lakes.
Golf
Golf: Golf courses can be found at Saint Junien, Limoges, Porcelaine . Travelling times are between 35 and 70 minutes.
Travel
The area is a 15 minutes away from the A20, which is the main auto route to the South of France and 25 minutes from Limoges Airport.You will need a car to get to the house and around the region if you want to explore this fantastic area fully.
Distances
The village of Compreignac is 2 minutes drive away and has a tabac, boucherie, boulangerie and small supermarket.Parking is available and 2 excellent local restaurants are a short distance away.Limoges is a 30 minute drive south. Local areas of interest are all within an hour's drive.The departments of the Correze and Cruise border the Haute Vienne.The Loire Valley lies North and the Dordoigne South. Skiing is also available in the Massif Central which is 2 ½ hours away and the Pyrenees,4 hours.

The Limousin: The area is renowned for its beautiful lakes, quiet villages, excellent cuisine, woodland trails and numerous chateaux, which can be found along the Richard the Lion heart route. It is therefore ideal for anyone who enjoys walking, fishing, bird watching, water sports, riding and cycling. Many of the lakes have man made beaches and offer truly safe swimming as motorboats are not allowed. There are a wide variety of attractions close by, including animal parks, museums, theme parks, historical sites, farmers markets - details are contained within the guide in your gite.
Things to see & do: Limoges itself is world famous for porcelain and with its beautiful timber framed houses in the ancient cathedral quarter is wonderful to stroll around. Many historic WW11 sites can be visited including the 'village of the Martyrs' at Oradour sur Glane. Seven of the most beautiful villages in France are located in the Limousin, with Mortemart close by and Collonges la Rouge to the south. Pompadour and its imposing castle, is the home of the national stud farm for angle arab horses. Futuroscope (near Poitiers) is a theme park dedicated to the world of cinema and is excellent for all the family. Close by is kayaking, karting, golf, horse riding and water sports, as well as animal, bird and reptile parks.
