Second year at La Maison Grange. Loved it as much as the first time. Clean, comfortable gite (Matisse). The hosts Jane & John were very welcoming & we had great fun at the weekly BBQs. We'll be back! The Collins family / Essex
A great base to explore the area. Lovely gite - well impressed with the attention to detail & cleanliness. We have already booked for next year because this place will become very popular as it's discovered by more holiday makers! The Pruett family / Bristol
A nice relaxing place which is very child friendly & safe. John & Jane couldn't have done more to make us feel welocme. We wish them every success for the future. The Carolle family / Poole
We loved it at La Maison Grange. The facilities are brilliant especially the summer house for those rainy days as there's so much to keep the kids occupied with. All the guests get together for the BBQ evening to enjoy John's superb cooking skills! John & Jane deserve every success. The Ridout family / Taunton
Owner profile

About the owner
We, John and Jane Jones became the proud owners of La Maison Grange in January 2010. We both agreed it was too early to retire(!) so a new venture was embarked upon after much deliberation about what path to take. We decided to bring our standards and expertise to this beautiful part of France and hence the purchase of La Maison Grange. Lots of work has been carried out at the complex including landscaping the grounds, upgrading the gites and summer house, replacing patios and refurbishing pool area.
Year purchased: 2010
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We fell in love with the house as soon as we saw it as it ticked all the boxes in what we were looking for. The previous owners had tastefully renovated an circa 1880 barn into a very beautiful main house & 3 attached but very private gites with a fabulous swimming pool.
The area is very rural - a new experience for us both having moved from a busy city environment. There is always plenty to see as we venture out every day with our dog Molly. Although we live in a very rural spot, overlooking the beautiful Dronne Valley, we are not far from city life in Bordeaux, the wonderful vineyards of St Emillion or the enchanting town of Cognac.
There is very little hustle and bustle here - definately life is lived at a much slower pace!
Unique benefits of the property
We live on site so are readily available to advise and give guidance on the local area, facilities and opportunities. We offer a welcome soiree on a Sunday afternoon to introduce ourselves and the guests to each other over a class of chilled local wine.
There's lots of space for children to enjoy whilst at the same time remaining safe. The swimming pool is situated close to all the gites. La Maison Grange is ideally situated for guests to enjoy a very relaxed, peaceful holiday whist at the same time being within striking distance of some of the regions finest places of interest. Thursday is BBQ night for our guests who wish to participate and these evenings have become something of a legend!
