The chalet was constructed in 2006 and so boasts loads of modern features whilst retaining the feel of a traditional chalet. There are 6 beautifully decorated bedrooms plus a large living area with wood burning stove, dining area and open plan kitchen. The chalet also has a sauna and sun terrace which enjoys spectacular views along the valley. During the summer the chalet is available on a self catered basis and for the winter season it is available to book for small or large groups on a fully catered basis.

Notes on prices
Summer prices are self catered and based on 7 nights accommodation and include:
Bed linen and pre made beds. Towels. Hairdryers. Welcome hamper of food and cleaning products. Electricity, heating and water. Local tourist taxes. Secure, bike storage. High chairs and cots available on request at no extra charge.

Changeover day
Winter season changover day is Sunday. Summer season changeover day is Saturday.
Notes on accommodation
The living area, with its raised open fire and comfy sofas, is the ideal place to relax and wind down after a day’s activities. Alternatively, you can step through the large French doors and enjoy the beautiful views from the balcony and terrace. Ground floor: On the ground floor you will find the equipment room where your mountain bikes etc can be cleaned and stored securely, you will find the sauna and shower room, laundry room and then stairs to the first floor. First floor: On this floor there is the large living and dining area and open plan kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms each with their own shower or bathroom. Off the living area and kitchen there is a large balcony and sun terrace. Second floor: The other 4 bedrooms are situated on the second floor, 2 with balconies with spectacular views down the valley.
Outside
There is a long driveway with plenty of parking. There is a sun terrace with BBQ area, jacuzzi, tables, chairs and loungers.
Coast/Beach
The chalet is around a 35 minute drive from the lakeside town of Evian with beautiful marinas and beaches. You will also find Thonon and Yvoire and on the Swiss side of the lake Montreux and Lausanne all of which surround Lake Geneva.
Golf
There are golf courses to suit all standards and more courses to choose from than you might imagine. There are courses at Avoriaz, the Championship course at Evian and the breathtaking views from the Les Gets golf club which you may have skied over during the winter.
Skiing
A winter holiday at Chalet Les 2 Vallees in the Portes Du Soleil gives you the chance to ski and snowboard the largest interlinked ski area in the world covering 650kms of piste, 220 lifts, superb snow parks and over 100 mountain restaurants. The chalet is around 500m from the village centre and super chatel lift. From Chatel you can visit all 12 resorts including Morzine and Les Gets, the purpose built resort of Avoriaz and into Switzerland to the quiet open pistes of Champery, Les Crosets and Morgins with its breathtaking views of the Dents du Midi.
Travel
The quickest way to the Alps is flying and transfers from Geneva take around 90 minutes. Transfers are included in the winter and are available at an additional cost in the summer. We do recommend having a car for the duration of your summer holiday. You can self drive or if you still prefer to fly you should hire a car from Geneva airport. There are so many places of interest you will want to visit and activities close by having a car will give you the flexibility you need.
Further details
Walking.
There are more than 65km of footpaths in and around Chatel and over 300km of well marked trekking routes in the Portes Du Soleil. From a ramble around the Lac de Vonnes, a themed trail on the Morclan or a visit to the Chatel meadows tasting local farm produce along the way there is something to suit everyone.
Mountain biking.
There are over 24 lifts open in the summer giving access to 580km of marked cycle tracks in the Portes Du Soleil, this really is prime mountain biking country. There are 9 downhill tracks, and trial and biker cross circuits. For novice off road cyclists there are many great tracks to build your confidence and all mountain bikes can be hired locally.
White Water rafting.
White water rafting is done on the river Dranse. A team of well organised and professional instructors will ensure that you have a safe but thrilling day out. While you are here you can also try canyoning, white water swimming, canoeing and paragliding.
Fantasticable.
This is unique to Chatel, there are 2 fantasticable lines stretching over Plaine Dranse. Open every day from March this is truly and incredible experience where you will reach speeds of up to 100 kmh.
Horse riding.
If you wish to see the mountains on horse back there are stables near by. Riding trips can be pre-booked and are supervised by experienced instructors.

We bought our first chalet in Chatel in 2004. Chatel and the Portes du Soleil offers everything. Not only a superb place to live but one of the best locations for both winter and summer holidays in the world.
