Chalet apartment Les Marmottes is ideally situated for village of Les Allues, linked to Meribel Centre by gondola. Close to all village amenities and a short 10 min walk from the ski lift. It is on two floors and feels like 'a chalet within a chalet', spacious and alpine in style. Our family owned apartment offers all the home comforts and little luxuries not normally provided in self-catering ski apartments, such as towelling bathrobes, beds made ready for arrival, complimentary 'Arran Aromatics' toiletries. Cleaning, electricity, hot water, phone and tourist taxes are all included in the price - nothing extra to pay. Notes on prices
A £180 non-refundable booking deposit secures your booking, with balance of rental being paid 10 weeks before the holiday. For bookings within 10 weeks of the start date the full amount is due on booking. You must be over 21 yrs of age to make a booking. Sorry, we can't accept bookings of longer than 2 weeks. Sorry, strictly no pets. From December 2010 the apartment will sleep a maximum of 5 people only.
Changeover day
Normal changeover day is Saturday in high season, but in low season short breaks and flexible arrival/departure days are often possible, please see our own website for further details.

| Other: | All rooms are decorated in alpine style, with good quality pine furniture, partly pine-lined rooms and a pine open-tread staircase leading to the upper floor. The apartment is sunny and bright and maintained to a very high standard. |

Everything is carefully prepared for you, pre-arrival cleaning, beds made up and towels laid out. Towelling bathrobes and complimentary toiletries are included. End of stay cleaning (2.5 hrs) is included in the rental. Grocery delivery available. |
Notes on accommodation
Les Marmottes is on 2 floors (65 sq.m) and will sleep 6. It is ideal for small groups and couples with double beds or twins. Bedlinen, towels, electricity and end cleaning are included in the rental although you will have to leave everything basically clean and tidy on departure.
Also, towelling bathrobes are provided (for adults), hairdryers and complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries. Beds are made up ready for your arrival.
Families: children are welcome - however, care is needed with toddlers and small children on the open-tread stairs and balcony. Cots and highchairs can be hired locally at a reasonable price, please bring your own cot bedding. The chalet has a shared garden at the rear, however this is not fenced. There is a basement ski locker and a luggage storage room for those arriving early.

Accessibility
Regrettably the apartment is NOT accessible to those with impaired mobility due to stairs up from the entrance at road level and the open tread stairs inside the apartment leading up to the bedrooms and bathroom. Parents please note, we do not provide a stairgate.
Outside
The chalet is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery on the edge of the pretty Savoyard village of Les Allues, at 1100m and in the heart of the world renowned ski area Les Trois Vallees - the Three Valleys. For full details of the village and ski area please see the Les Marmottes website. Village amenities: 3 minutes walk to the nearest restaurant, village grocery shop 4 mins walk. Ski and snowboard hire 4 mins walk. Parking is in the private car park next to the chalet.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach for swimming is at an alpine lake at Bozel, approx. 20 mins drive - sandy beach, lifeguards, cafe. Good beaches for swimming also available at Lake Anecy, 45 mins drive.
Skiing
Les Allues (1100m) is situated in the Trois Vallees - a world renowned ski area with 600km of pisted skiing, Extensive snowmaking and high-altitude skiing with a glacier makes this a snow-sure area.
A 10% discount is available on ski hire for our guests, with delivery available to the apartment. The pistes are accessed from Les Allues via the 6 person Olympe gondola - a 10 minute easy walk from the chalet - taking you to La Chaudanne in Meribel, a pisted area with a choice of lifts enabling you to link with all areas of the Trois Vallees.
Ski school meeting place at Chaudanne & ski kindergarten. The fast lift system enables you to ski to Courchevel, Val Thorens, St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and La Tania.
At the end of the day you can return to Les Allues via the Villages piste, snow conditions permitting, from where it is a two-minute walk to the chalet, or via the gondola or free shuttle bus. Les Allues has restaurants, bars, ski hire shop, supermarket, creche etc.
Travel
Choice of airports - Geneva, Lyon, Chambery. Eurostar train to Moutiers (15 minute transfer to chalet).Minibus or taxi transfers bookable in advance. If arriving early in the day luggage storage is available in the chalet basement. Driving from UK - the journey is on fast French motorways and driving time from Calais is just over 9 hours. Parking is in the private car park next to the chalet. In winter car not necessary, in summer a car will enable you to fully explore this beautiful area.

Geneva airport to chalet 2 hours 15 mins. Lyon airport to chalet 1 hour 50 mins, Chambery 1 hour - all airports served by flights from UK, please see owner's website. Moutiers Rail Station (direct service by Eurostar) 15 mins drive from chalet. Transfers available by minibus and taxi. Lake Annecy 45 mins. Annecy town 1 hour approx.
Further details
Nearest Shop - 4 minute walk (small village supermarket selling fresh croissants, baguettes, local wines and other specialities). The friendly village bar, La Tsarretta, is a lively village meeting place and has delicious home-made pizzas, Sky TV and live entertainment during the winter. There is also a bistro-style restaurant upstairs.
Food Delivery and Catering - groceries can be ordered with a local company ready for your arrival. Delicious cooked meals can also be ordered and delivered to the chalet ready to eat.
Childcare - Winter: creche and nanny service in Les Allues, just one minute's walk from the apartment, available in summer according to demand.
Restaurants/bars -choice of 5 in Les Allues. Nearest restaurant/bar is 3 mins walk.
In summer mountain bikes can be hired locally, and instruction is available in all outdoor activities. Children's activities (from 8 years of age upwards) include mountain biking, abseiling, rafting, canoeing, archery, golf, climbing and treks in the mountains, as well as swimming, tennis, horseriding, skate park etc.

About the owner
Chalet Apartment Les Marmottes is situated in the charming village of Les Allues, (1100m) just 3.5 miles from Meribel. We have found Les Allues to be an ideal base for our ski holidays and our apartment is very well situated near the centre of the village & ski lift to Meribel.
I have been letting our apartment for self-catered holidays for over 10 years with many repeat bookings. I will be pleased to answer any questions you might have regarding the apartment and the resort - we spend our own family holidays in Meribel and know the area well.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We chose the apartment for its beautiful village setting in Meribel Les Allues, the stunning views from the balcony, living rooms and bedrooms and its proximity to the lifts and pistes.
We love skiing and snowboarding but prefer a village atmosphere to a noisy busy resort, so Les Allues is ideal as it offers all the charm of an authentic alpine village, together with easy access to 600 km of pisted skiing - high and snow-sure, with excellent snow making so that you can ski well into April.
Les Allues itself has a good choice of restaurants, bars, a ski hire shop, small supermarket, childcare. As well as the gondola, there is a free ski bus to Meribel, which can also be used for apres-ski.

The chalet is very conveniently located in Les Allues which is a friendly and welcoming village and we appreciate the short easy walk to the ski lift and village shops and restaurants.
The apartment is carefully maintained and as it is our own holiday home you will find everything you need for a comfortable and convenient self-catered holiday.
We also have an excellent resort agency who will prepare the apartment for your arrival, including making the beds and putting out towels and bathrobes. They offer a range of optional extras such as catering, babysitting, grocery delivery or breakfast bread and pastries which can make your holiday even more relaxing.
