Our village house in Villecroze was built around 1790 along the perimeter of the “vieux village” that dates back to medieval times. The front of the house faces the old village and the rear of the house has beautiful views over the countryside. The house has been totally restored over the last few years under the direction of a local architect and all the original architectural features have remained intact.
Villecroze is a charming small village nestled in the heart of the green and luscious countryside of the Haut Var region of the Cote d’Azur. Villecroze is noted for its grotto where a waterfall drops over the face of limestone cliffs in which ancient caves were fortified by a local lord during the XVI century to be used a refuge against military attacks.

Duplex Apartment (2 Bedroom, Sleeps 4/6)

The two bedroom apartment occupies two floors of the village house. The first floor includes the kitchen, living room and dining area. An interior staircase leads to the second level with two bedrooms, bath, and laundry with washer and dryer. Windows at front of house overlook vieux village and windows at back of house overlook country side with park, vineyards, and olive groves.
Kitchen: Brand new fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, including cooktop, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher and breakfast table.
Living Room: Large L shaped sofa with sofa table, flat screen television with local channels and DVD. The sofa opens into a sofa bed that can accommodate two people.
Dining Area: Dining area between kitchen and living room has a dining table with 6 chairs.
Bedroom 1: Large room with antique double bed (new mattress), dresser, and hanging rack.
Bedroom 2: Small sitting room with sofa bed and closet.
Bathroom: Tile bath with shower and new washer/dryer.

Studio Apartment (Sleeps 2)

The studio apartment occupies one floor of the village house. It includes a full bath with shower and washer/dryer, a kitchen, dining area and living room with a new sofa bed.
Kitchen: New fully equipped kitchen with cooktop, oven, dishwasher and small refrigerator.
Bathroom: Tile bath with shower and washer/dryer.
Dining Area: Table with 4 chairs.
Living Area: Sofa, stuffed chair, coffee table, flat screen TV with local channels and DVD player, closet bookcase, lamp table.
Sleeping: Sofa in living area is a sofa bed that sleeps two.

Notes on accommodation
Porta crib and child's chair available on request.

Coast/Beach
Frejus, St Tropez and other beaches on the Riviera are located 45 minutes by car from Villecroze. Lac Ste Croix and the Gorges du Verdon are 30 minutes away by car.

Travel
Villecroze is located about midway between airports at Marseilles and Nice, about 20 kilometers west of Draguignan. Travel times are about 1.5 hours from Marseilles and 1.25 hours from Nice.

Distances
House is in the vieux village of Villecroze and a 5 minute walk to restaurants, park, tennis courts, post office, etc. Villecroze is within 20 km of Salernes, Lorgues, Thoronet, Entrecasteau, Cotignac, Tourtour and Aups, all towns that are descrbed in the Michelin Green Guide.

Further details
There is a market on the plaza in Villecroze every Thursday morning. The house is adjacent to the Villecroze Academy of Music and there are classical music concerts on many weekends during the summer at a 13th century chapel located a short walk from the house. There is a tennis club in Villecroze that accepts reservations from guests.

A deposit of 25% of the rental is due at the time of reservation and full payment is due two weeks prior to the start of your stay. Contact the owner to make a reservation.
