Situated in the heart of the Aquitaine region Seguinet is on the borders of the rivers Lot, Garonne and Dordogne. It is a 10 min drive from Fumel where there are many large supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Numerous famous bastide towns and chateaux are nearby and well worth a visit. Belves, Monflanquin, Monpazier, Villefranche-du-Perigod, Issigeac and Chateau de Biron to mention just a few. The beautiful town of Sarlat is only a 45 min drive away. Seguinet is a beautifully restored 'Maison de Maitre' offering peace and tranquility in 17 acres of private land. The house sits in a valley with the Lemance river bordering the property on one side. There is a lake, a pond and a mill race on the property with plenty of trout for fishing enthusiasts. The property is just off the D710 and yet feels totally secluded and private.

Notes on prices
At booking we require a non-refundable deposit of 25% and the balance paid 8 weeks before your holiday commences. We also require a refundable security deposit of 500€ or £500 when making your final payment for Manoir Seguinet and 250€ or £250 for Maison Meunier and the Coach house. This security deposit may be paid in either euros or sterling and we will advise you of the relevant bank details. This will be refunded within a week of departure less any costs for additional cleaning or damage.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, but this is flexible at non peak times.
Notes on accommodation
The Seguinet estate has many bodies of water, namely the river, stream, pond, lake and mill race. Parents please be aware of the surroundings and be extra vigilant with young children. It is an idyllic location for cycling, walking, fishing and generally enjoying all that nature has to offer. There is no shortage of space inside or outside for a quiet read or to play. The Manoir Seguinet has three fireplaces, a log burner as well as oil central heating. The Coach House has a fire place with log burner and also gas central heating. The Maison Meunier has electric heaters as well as the log burner.
Accessibility
This property may not be suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
Seguinet is a 17 acre domaine comprising gardens, orchards, fields and woodlands. It has a trout fishing lake, where the annual fishing competition, organised by the Saint Front village committee, is held each June. We have fishing rods, which can be borrowed by guests, for use on the property. There are lots of seating areas around with outdoor furniture and each property has a barbecue. There are swings for children to play on and table tennis equipment as well as a badminton net and racquets.
There are two dingy's on the lake which guests may use and four cycles which can also be borrowed.
Please note that there may be shared use of the main house swimming pool on certain dates only.
Golf
A wide choice of 9 and 18 hole golf courses are available within an hours drive. The Villeneuve-sur-Lot Golf and Country Club is a particularly worthwhile 18 hole par 72 course over rolling countryside with fairways flanked by orchards.
Chateau des Vigiers has an 18 hole golf course with open fairways that pass through plum orchards, vines and oak copses that make golf there such a memorable experience. The Brasserie ('Le Chai') provides an excellent lunch in what was the old winemaking building. It is a great spot to rendezvous with non-golfing partners midway through a round of 18 holes. The additional facilities of tennis, gym, beauty spa and swimming pool are great for a wind down in superb surroundings.
Chateau Les Merles offers a fun 9 hole course in a tranquil valley with water features. The bistro serves superb food and is a great spot to relax after golf.
Special interest holidays
The area is ideal for cycling or walking enthusiasts, offering real variety in this very historical region.
Seguinet offers a real opportunity for the family to develop their fishing skills. For the more experienced angler the Lot river is only 10-15 minutes away.
Travel
The nearest airport is Bergerac, about 45 mins drive, used by Ryanair and Flybe etc. Hire cars can be booked in advance. It is necessary to have a car here in order to fully enjoy what the region has to offer. It is also within travelling distance of both Bordeaux and Toulouse Int airports, approx 2 hours and 1 hour and 45 mins away, respectively. Limoges airport is about 3 hours away.
Distances
Seguinet is in the village of St Front sur Lemance which has an 11th century church. Sauveterre sur Lemance is 5km away with shops, bars and restaurants. Just 10 min drive away you can sit in one of the two restaurants at the foot of the stunning Chateau de Bonaguil. The town of Fumel is just 10km away with large supermarkets and shops. Nearby Libos has a market every Thursday morning. An hours drive takes you to the beautiful chateaux and villages of Dordogne including Sarlat, Beynac and Domme.
Further details
In the rivers around Dordogne, Domme, Sarlat, Le Bugue, Bergerac and Beynac you can canoe or kayak down the river at your own leisure.
We have four bicycles that can be borrowed at any time.
Parc-en-ciel is an adventure park for children and adults alike offering endless climbing fun in the tree tops. Park Wallaby is a traditional theme park guaranteed to keep the kids happy all day.
Wine tours of Bergerac and Duras are also a great way to spend the day.
There are other communes which are within a few kilometres of St Front. These include Blanquefort-sur-Briolance which has an auberge, and Gavadun which has a great restaurant.

We are two English couples, Tas & Martyn and Jeff & Chris, who moved to the Dordogne after visiting the area for holidays. We have spent two years restoring and renovating the main house and gardens and now live on site.

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
We had spent holidays in the Dordogne for a number of years and have fallen in love with the area and it's peaceful way of life. It compares with the beauty of the Cotswolds in the UK but with warmer weather. The setting of Seguinet is tranquil and idyllic and yet very accessible to the various bastide towns, villages, castles and chateaux around.
