Languedoc Roussillon is the southernmost, sunniest region in France, averaging 320 days of sunshine a year.

Outside
The villa is surrounded by private woodland and has a 9x4 private tiled swimming pool. The summer kitchen and dining terrace overlooks the pool and has a BBQ fireplace. The front terrace overlooks the Roussillon Plain and also has a dining table and chairs.
Coast/Beach
Nearest beach is Argeles 15 mins drive with a 3km palm tree fringed promenade for strolling or cycling along. Further south the coast becomes more rocky. Set in a picturesque cove and reputedly the prettiest town on the Cote Vermeille is Collioure is 20 mins drive. There are 3 small beaches and a great choice of bars and restaurants.
Golf
The best golf course in the area is 20km away in St Cyprien, which, according to is a renowned course between sea and lake with the Pyrenees mountains in the background. Challenging championship course with water hazards, 18 holes 6480 metres Par 73 South Course 9 holes 2724 metres Par 35.

Further details
The nearest boulangerie is in Saint Genis des Fontaines, 8 mins away by car. here is also a small supermarket in Saint Genis and a larger Champion supermarket, also 8 mins drive from the house on the road to Argeles. There are outdoor markets in almost every village and town in the area, notably in Ceret on Saturday and Collioure on Wednesday and Sunday. You can buy fresh fish from the fishermen at the port in Argeles and in Port Vendres. There is a good choice of bars and restaurants in the neighbouring villages within 10 mins drive. If you want to venture a little further afield, the Mediterranean coast is 15 mins by car, where there is an excellent choice of restaurants, including some very good seafood restaurants, in Argeles, Collioure and Port Vendres. A 15 mins drive inland will take you to the medieval town of Ceret, where there is a wide range of restaurants offering Catalan, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, Chinese and of course, French cuisine. There is easy access straight from the centre of the village to a number of trails for walking. Just up the road from the house is a mountain bike circuit, which leads up into the Alberes mountains. There are also riding stables and a tennis court in the village.
More wine is produced in Languedoc Roussillon than in any other region in France. Opportunities to taste wine abound, with most wine domaines offering tasting so you can try before you buy. The villa overlooks the vineyards of the domaine situated in the village, the Domaine du Mas Rous.
