Logis de la Croix is a renovated 17th century fortified farm that has been carefully renovated to give 4 individual family holiday gites. All of our gites have a private terrace with a gas BBQ, all have clear views over the enclosed pools area and the large playing field with childrens area. Located on the edge of a small village the views are over open farm land, with almost no traffic its ideal for walking or cycling. We are only 5 minutes from the market town of Matha. To the South about 25 minutes away is Cognac, and about 35 minutes away is the historic city of Saintes. St Jean D'angely with its famous weekly fish markets is only 20 minutes away. The coast around the Charente Maritime a dozens of sandy beaches and coves.

Changeover day

We can be flexible in low season.
Notes on accommodation
All of our gites have been designed for families of all ages, we can supply cots, highchairs and stair gates at no extra cost.
All rentals include, linen, towels and the end of stay clean.
Accessibility
We regret that none of our properties are very suitable for wheel chair access.
Outside
All of our 4 gites have a tiled terrace overlooking the enclosed pools area and across the playing field and children's area. Both the large main pool (15 metres x 6 metres) and the children's splash pool, which is only 40cm deep are heated by a heat exchanger and so are not weather dependant. We have a fitness gym and a covered area in the garden for Table tennis and table football.
Coast/Beach
There are dozens of beaches and sandy coves within an hour or so drive. The islands of Ile D'Oleron and Ile Re are both a great day out.
Golf
There are several golf courses in the area, between 30 minutes and 45 minutes away at Cognac and Saintes.
Travel
BY ferry, the nearest port is ST Malo 4hrs 30 mins.
Cherbourg is 6 hrs 30mins, Caen is 6 hrs away.
BY Tunnel, the tunnel terminal is 7hrs 30 mins drive.
BY air, La Rochelle and Poitiers are both just over an hour away, Angouleme is about 50 minutes drive.
Limoges, Nantes and Bordeaux are all 2 hours away.
Distances
We are located in the village of Gibourne, it is only 5 minutes drive to the market town of Matha which has a good selection of shops, banks, restaurants. Cognac and Saintes are between 25 mins and 35 mins away. The historic town of St Jeran D'Angely is only 20 minutes drive.

To make a booking, the deposit is 20%, the balance paid 8 weeks before arrival.
