Changeover day
During the peak summer weeks changeover day is normally Saturday. Outside the peak period changeover day can be flexible, many prefer Thursday to take advantage of lower ferry prices.

Bedroom 4: single bed and settee (2nd floor).
Bathrooms: Ground floor: bathroom with bath and show over.

1st Floor: shower and wc.
Kitchen: Gas cooker with hob and oven, microwave with grill, fridge with freezer. Good selection of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc.
Utility Room: Situated in the garage is a washing machine and dishwasher. Also provided are various garden games.
Living Rooms: TV with DVD, VHS and satellite TV reception. Radio. Phone for incoming calls.
Other: There is also a 2 bedroom converted barn that the owners use from time to time.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The house is cleaned before each rental and should be left clean and tidy on departure. Linen and towels not provided.

The house is fitted with electric oil-filled radiators controlled by a central unit that acts in a similar way to central heating.

Accessibility
This property has access via two steps onto the patio and a further two steps into the house. All bedrooms are upstairs. The ground floor bathroom is via two steps and the washing machine down a further 2 steps.

Outside
Roc'h ar Hed has a large garden, some of which is grass and parts are on slopes with trees and wild areas with a tree house. There is a boule pitch, swings and plenty of space for football, netball etc. The patio is supplied with a barbecue, sun loungers, table and chairs.

Coast/Beach
The beaches are situated close to Plesting les Greves, about 20 mins by car. There are many good sandy beaches in the area, some offering surf with life guards on duty. In this area there is a large tide rise/fall so at low tide there is a lot of sand. Wind/kite surfing is very popular.

Golf
There are a golf courses at Begard & Brest, links provided from owners website. The garden at Roc'h ar Hed is often used by visitors for practice shots.

Travel
The closest airport is at Brest (40 mins by car). Roscoff ferry port is less than 45 mins. St Malo about 90 mins. Cherbourg/Caen just over 3 hrs.

Distances
Plufur which has limited shops is about 5 mins by car. Plestin les Greves is a 15 min drive and has a very well equipped supermarket/fish counter and cave. Lannion/Morlaix with extensive shopping areas are not far - 25-30 mins by car.

About the owner
Margaret, Tim (our son) and myself own a very nice property in Brittany and we treat this as our second home. The property has a large garden, a 4 bedroom farm house that is available for summer self catering holidays and a 2 bedroom cottage that we use ourselves as often as we are able. The garden and these two houses are maintained to a good standard. We all love a peaceful time, walks on the beach and the odd swim. Margaret is a keen gardener and I like DIY jobs. Roc'h ar Hed is perfect for all this, the beaches are fantastic, about a 20 min drive, the garden is very tranquil, surrounded by grazing land and has a mixture of trees and grassy areas. The DIY tasks keep me with some challenges during the winter.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Having a Channel Island background and sailing into French ports we got to love this part of France. Good food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. Roc'h ar Hed was build around 1850 and has many typical Breton features, such as being built into bedrock - which provides climatic stability. As keen gardeners the 2.5 acres sets a suitable challenge and as a typical engineer, the DIY keeps Robin busy during the winter.

Unique benefits of the property
The area is peaceful and relaxing. The beaches fantastic. The variety of sea food available is amazing. Often when visiting we don't leave for days on end since everything one could possible want is on the door step. Its a good re-charge.
