The local area offers a variety of activities. Ideally situated to visit the vineyards of the Cote D'or region this is a wine connoisseurs' delight! For the more adventurous there are many sporting activities on offer from canoeing to white water rafting in the Morvan National Park. Day trips to Chalon sur Soane, Beaune and Dijon add a cultural dimension to your holiday; this area has something for everyone. The accommodation has three comfortable bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen with a spacious open plan living room. Furnished to a very high standard; the open plan living area with feature fireplace offers a comfortable space to spend time relaxing. The bedrooms are equally comfortable with two double and one single room all linen and towels provided for your convenience. The setting is tranquil; the property has a cottage garden feel incorporating pretty herbaceous borders and views over open countryside.

A 9 hole golf course is within 20 minutes drive at the Autun Golf Club. 18 hole courses are available at Le Creusot and Chalon sur Soane.

The nearest airports are at Lyon and Paris. It is recommended that the use of a car is essential for your visit.

The town of Autun has all major Banks shops and supermarkets. Autun also has swimming pool boating on the lake.
There are a number of Roman remains and exploring them should not be missed. An information pack is supplied at the house which contains the many places of interest to be found in the area.

About the owner
We fell in love with Burgundy during our travels through France in the 1990's, we have a special appreciation for the rich Celtic, Roman, and medieval history of the area. The wonderful bistros, restaurants, markets, and vineyards in this area fulfill our love of gourmet food and wine. Originally coming from a farm family, we particularly love the beauty of the Morvan Forest, the green pastures, and white Charolais cattle. Also, Burgundy reminds us of the slow, gracious pace of life in tune with country living, a feeling so much lost in the rat race of City life and unending work. Burgundy is the ultimate vacation area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The whole country of France is wonderful. But, like the Three Bears of the fairy tale, we found the Dordogne too hot, Provence too crowded and Burgundy just right. We immediately loved the village, a charming, historical location which offered the quiet of the country and proximity to a city with full amenities, Autun, a non-touristic, authentically French city. The location is a 15 mile drive from the A-6 exit. The house is a charming cottage within a short walk of the Mairie, the Tabac and the Boulangerie, not to mention the picturesque Medieval village church with its bell tower. The cottage has a lovely back yard which looks up at the mountains of the Morvan Forest, perfect for evenings of Kir, appetizers and chats with friends.

Unique benefits of the property
Easily accessible from A6, N7, and N 81, the property is perfectly situated for day trips of less than an hour to many sites of interest. We love to drive to the wine vineyards near Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, to take tasting tours. The Morvan Forest provides beautiful natural scenery and a wonderful museum of Celtic history. Roman ruins and a world-renowned medieval cathedral can be found in Autun, a fifteen minute drive. Many fascinating chateaus are nearby, including Sully, Brandon, Chateauneuf, and Rochepot. Every day of the week, a nearby town is hosting a market, with fresh meat, farm cheese, vegetables, and fruit, as well as souvenir items. Shops abound in the area, as well as local festivals, "vide grenier" (attic) sales, and local events.
