Changeover day
The week runs Saturday to Saturday, 3:30pm arrival, depart by 09:30am. This does not apply low season when dates can be negotiated.

Notes on accommodation
For safety reasons the pool has 1.2m fencing all round with lockable gate. The rear garden is also enclosed with 1.5m fencing. There is also a safety alarm system fitted with the pool.
Outside
Private 10 x 5m heated rectangular pool with Roman steps set on side and ''filtering panel'' filtration. Underwater lighting, large 50m sq paved area around pool, outside shower, child safety alarm system built in, heat exchanger system for efficient heating to extend season. Typically early April to end of October pool will be maintained at 28 degrees.
Barbecue and outdoor furniture are provided.
Coast/Beach
The best sandy beaches of the Vendée are just a 10 to 15 minute walk through the woods along a cycle track. Both unspoilt and uncrowded they stretch for 13km along this part of the Vendee, always in the lea of the Ile de Ré, the beaches are gently sloping and the waves are small making them ideal for families with young children. It's an ideal spot for both surfing (body boarding is great for even 4 or 5 year olds confident in the water) and swimming.
Golf
The Vendée is home to five golf courses whose individual characteristics are much-loved by those who play them: five 18-hole courses, four of them on the coast and one in the hinterland. All of them enjoy an exceptionally fine natural setting, with small clumps of trees, woodland, splendid water features and greenery. At Saint Jean de Monts, a number of holes on the edge of the beach remind players of the links in Scotland. At Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, the Fontenelles course and its surrounding countryside is one of gentle undulations, maritime pines and green oaks. The Domangère course at La Roche sur Yon is in the Californian style. The course at Port Bourgenay is on an estate covering 85 hectares and is fringed by pine woodland and small lakes. And finally, at Olonne sur Mer, you will encounter the true nature of the Vendée’s bocage countryside, with its gently undulating landscapes and lovely lakes.
Travel
Flying with Ryanair to La Rochelle, or sailing to St Malo with Brittany Ferries are two of the easiest options. Car hire is very easy at La Rochelle airport and good value, flights are daily.

Distances
The administrative capital of the Vendee, Roche sur Yon is a mere 40km away. The beautiful port of La Rochelle is just 45minutes to the south, and Les Sable d'Olonne a similar distance to the North. Not far to the East lies the delightful medieval city of Fontenay le Comte, and nearby to that the charming villages of Vouvant and Mervent.
Further details
Famous for numerous gently sloping beaches which are ideal for water sports or just sunbathing. The region is also noted for the 'Venise Vert' (Green Venice) canal system, and water sports and walking around the Mervent area as well as the Pierre Brune fun park for children. For the connoisseur the Vendée is surrounded on three sides by the Loire, Cognac and Bordeaux. Inland the landscape is dominated by vineyards and sunflower fields with small villages every few miles. Ideal for a quiet holiday in the sun, the Vendée is said to equal anywhere in France for hours of sunshine each year. The climate means the season extends from Easter to late October - the average monthly temperature in September is 70 degrees.
