Our newly refurbished cottage with original features has been tastefully restored to provide you with a self catering holiday home. It has some exposed stone walls, original oak beams, and original fireplace, although this now houses a wood burning stove with back boiler which supplies the central heating for the remainder of the house.

Changeover day

Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, microwave and all usual small appliances. Fitted washing machine, fridge with small freezer compartment, cutlery, crockery, saucepans, ovenware, iron and ironing board.
Living Rooms: Open plan living/dining room with log burning fire, 3 and 2 seater sofas, television with freeview satellite system, DVD and video player. Dining table and chairs. Selection of books, games, DVDs and videos to borrow if required.

linen/maid service:
Bedlinen, tea towels and bathroom towels supplied and changed weekly. Please bring your own towels for poolside use.

Notes on accommodation
Accommodation is all on the ground floor making the property child friendly. We have a no smoking policy inside the house. As there are farm animals nearby we request your dog be kept on a lead.

Accessibility
The owners both have mobility problems so the property has been converted with this in mind. The paths around the cottage have a very gradual slope with ramps to front and rear doors. These paths lead to a large parking area and to the swimming pool. Double French doors fitted in rear bedroom. We have the following equipment available for your use if required 1 shower stool, 1 shower chair, 1 commode, 1 perching stool.

Outside
Exclusive use of rear garden, with patio area, table and chairs, BBQ, washing line. Established trees and shrubs. Side garden with 9 x 4m in ground pool fitted with solar heating system. A new addition for 2010 is a fully removable dome cover although access is still possible with the dome fitted to allow swimming on rainy days. Access by Roman end steps, water depth ranges between 1.05 and 2.0m. The pool is surrounded by a terrace of 100sqm for sunbathing, eating outside, etc. Pool shared with owners.

Coast/Beach
Coast with excellent beach about 3 hours drive, however there are numerous lakes with beaches in the area.

Golf
2 golf courses both approximately 1 hours drive.

Travel
Nearest airports are Limoges (50 min drive) and Poitiers (70 min drive). Car hire is essential. Approximately 6 hours + drive from Calais (390 miles).

Distances
Nearest town 5 min drive, wildlife sanctuary 5 min drive, 2 lakes and reptile house within 20 min drive, spa pool, bowling and crocodile house within 50 min drive. Plus much more depending on your interests. Leaflets available.

Further details
Nearest town 5 min drive with small supermarket, bakers, post office, chemist, builders merchant, hairdresser, 2bars/restaurants. Larger towns with banks, supermarkets, etc 15 min + drive.

Please book via email, minimum 20% cheque when booking, followed by another 20% cheque 6 weeks before arrival date. Balance in euros cash on arrival please together with cheque for £100 damage deposit (or euro equivalent).

About the owner
Due to ill health my husband and I have taken early retirement. We have 3 sons, 5 grandchildren plus We have 2 cats. We live here with our son and enjoy the lovely clean fresh air. We have renovated the barn for our home. We also enjoy the peace and quiet of country life. if your after a quiet life on holiday come and meet us.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We have the best of both worlds - as the house is only 15 min from the motorway for ease of access but in the heart of the country for the peace and quiet, have no industrial pollution and very little light pollution (ideal for star gazing). We enjoy the local wildlife. Deer many wild bird on our feeding tables also you may see a wild boar that live in the area there a bird hide on the lake that's about 15 mins walk away.

Unique benefits of the property
The local village lussac les eglises we have a small super market bakery post office 2 bars restaurants and tabac and hair dressers. A small drive there are a few restaurants. We have a swimming pool table tennis table a baseball hoop 2 tree swings. We do have a few DVD to lend and board games.
