The holiday cottage/gite is set in a quiet hamlet with no through traffic so peace and quiet is assured. It is located on a hill overlooking the valley of the Aveyron River and surrounded by open fields. A secluded garden to the rear of the property is filled with flowers and trees. The large pool is unheated but is in full sun and the water is usually about 27c from June to September.

Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day. Departure at 10am and arrival at 4pm. This can be changed if there are no previous or following bookings.

Bathrooms: Shower, WC and wash basin. Basics supplied, such as soap, shampoo and shower gel. Towels included in rental price. Hair dryer.
Kitchen: Fridge, hob, microwave/oven, kettle, electric juicer & radio. Basics supplied, such as salt, pepper sugar & tea, olive oil.
Utility Room: Washing machine nearby.
Living Rooms: Lounge / diner with sofa, rocking chair, table and two dining chairs.

All linen and bathroom towels included as well as pool towels. Cleaning is every Saturday.

Accessibility
Property is on the ground floor but there are two steps inside which might make it unsuitable for those with mobility problems.

Outside
The south facing patio is equipped with parasol, table and chairs and BBQ.
Ample parking for a car or motor bike. Fresh herbs available for your use. Parsley & Thyme and help yourself to branches of rosemary for added flavour on the BBQ.

Golf
There is a nine hole golf course in Villefranche.

Travel
A car is essential. Car hire is available at airports and in Villefranche. Nearest airport is Rodez (50 min by car) with flights from London and Dublin with Ryanair. Toulouse (2 hours by car) is served by Easyjet and other international airlines. Plenty of brochures about places of interest are available in the cottage.

Nearest large town 10 minutes by car. Nearest village 5 minutes by car.

Further details
The region is full of interesting towns and villages. There is a lively market in Villefranche every Thursday when the local come to sell their produce. The region is a gastronomic delight and is famous for its foie gras, duck, cheeses, veal and wine. There are many restaurants nearby catering to all tastes and pockets. There are also many pathways for walks in the woods. Local organised walks are usually available at the weekends. Fish lovers are also catered for as there is a good supply of fish in the market and shops. There is also horse riding within easy driving distance.

Booking notes
A deposit of 30% is required to confirm the booking and the balance payable two weeks before arrival. Paypal is welcome for non-euro transfers to avoid expensive bank charges.

About the owner
The owners are two artists (an Irish painter and a Belgian sculptor) who fell in love with the region in 2001 and have chosen to live here full time. Apart from painting and sculpture we enjoy gardening, both vegetables and flowers and spend most of the summer outdoors. Out of season we like to travel to broaden our horizons.
