Villa Jodalu is a traditional Provençal style house offering light, spacious and modern accommodation. The property is in an elevated position, facing south, with stunning views over the hills. The garden is informal and laid mostly with Mediterranean vegetation. The terrace is naturally shaded with a vine-covered pergola, and there you can relax and enjoy a glass of tasty regional wine and start unwinding. The property is within walking distance of the village of Bagnols en Forêt and 17km from the nearest beaches in Fréjus & St. Raphael.

We provide all bed linen and towels and the pool is cleaned once a week, before a new arrival. Included in rental.

Notes on accommodation
Rooms are airy and spacious and all have great views. For cooler days, there is underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators in the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. If you just want to take the chill out, the wood-burning stove will keep you extra warm.
No animals allowed and no smoking permitted in the house.

Accessibility
The house is approached via a ramp/driveway with parking at the top for 2 cars. Cars can also be left on the road. Wide wooden steps lead from the parking to the front of the villa and the side entrance. There is no access for wheelchairs.

Outside
As the house sits on a slope, the garden follows the natural shape of the old terraces and is stocked with regional plants and olive trees. The dappled shade terrace overlooks the decking and swimming pool (bean shape approx 4m X 7.50m), which can be accessed down a few steps. There is outdoor furniture, parasols, sun loungers and a Weber BBQ for those who love open-air cooking. Families with very young children should be aware that there are limited flat areas where children can run around and toddlers should be supervised at all time when playing by the pool.

Coast/Beach
The coastal towns of Fréjus and St Raphael can be reached in approx. 25 minutes by car and offer a huge variety of leisure and sporting activities as well as festivals, concerts and a great Sunday market. There are boat trips to the various local islands and to St Tropez. This is a great way to see the most stunning coastline, the creeks and the mountains beyond.

Golf
The nearest golf course is situated on the road from Bagnols to Fayence and is part of the Four Seasons resort.There are many others in the area.

Travel
Nice airport is under one hour by car (motorway A8 exit junction 38) and Marseille is under 2 hours.
There are plenty of car hire companies in both airports and a vehicle is definitely recommended.

Distances
Lac de St. Cassien is just 20 minutes by car as is the hilltop town of Fayence.Nearby villages of Montauroux, Callian and Seillans are all within 40 minutes. Further afield, away from the crowds, the village of Mons boasts the most magnificent views over Provence. To the west, the Gorges du Verdon (The Grand Canyon of France) offer kayaking and trekking. Monaco and the beautiful Riviera are about one hour from Nice via one of the 3 splendid "Corniches".

Further details
Bagnols en Forêt is a typically French hilltop village, nestled between the sea and the mountains. You will find all essential amenities such as bakers, grocers, pharmacy, post office, newsagent, hairdresser and a few good restaurants. It is a great point of departure for trips to the coast or if you wish to discover the "Haute Provence".

Booking notes
A refundable deposit of £200 + 20% of the rental fee (non refundable) are required at the time of booking to secure the villa. Dates will be held for 10 days to allow receipt of the deposit. Balance is due 8 weeks before arrival. The £200 deposit will be returned on receipt of the keys, provided the local caretaker reports no losses or major damages. Key loss will be charged at £50. It is advisable to take comprehensive holiday insurance to cover all your party in case you should have to cancel.
