This contemporary, 2 bedroom apartment, with own parking space is situated in the centre of Salies de Bearn. Just 45 minutes from the stunning Pyrenean mountains and the white sand beaches of the Atlantic coast, the Bearn region can be enjoyed all year round. Outdoor activities are endless; white-water rafting or skiing. Gentle country walks, fishing or a game of golf. With numerous beautiful medieval towns and villages nearby, you are never short of local markets and traditional fetes to visit during the summer months. For those of you looking for the culture and bustle of the larger towns and cities; Biarritz, Bayonne and Pau are less than an hour’s drive away. If all of this leaves you in need of some relaxation, visit Salies’ thermal baths and enjoy the hot pool, or a luxurious beauty treatment. As a wine producing region with a strong gastronomic tradition, there are excellent restaurants which offer good value for money.

Prices are for the property per week in Sterling. Payments can be made in Sterling or Euro, by bank transfer or cheque. Pricing is based on 4 people sharing. Changeover day
Changeover is usually on a Saturday in peak periods but different days can be organised by special arrangement. Arrival time between 4 and 7pm, this can be flexible please contact the owner for further details. Departure time 10am.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment complex has private parking spaces, secure main entrance and lift or stairway access to the 1st floor.
Accessibility
Although the apartment has not been specially adapted for wheelchair users all rooms are on the one level with no steps or ramps, the corridors are wide and the bathroom large. It also has the benefit of lift access to the first floor.
Outside
Enjoy breakfast or dinner ‘al fresco’ on the south facing balcony accessible from the living room or the kitchen; or simply relax with a good book and a glass of local wine.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are on the Cote Basque at Biarritz or St Jean de Luz just an hour away. These two authentically Basque towns are famous for their fine boutique shops and restaurants, offering a relaxed ambiance. To the north of Biarritz are other well known surfing beaches like Hossegor or Bidart.
Golf
There is a 12 hole Golf Course in Salies-de-Bearn or just 50-60 minutes drive away you have a choice of several courses on the Cote Basque, plus 2 courses near Pau including Pau Golf Club, continental Europe's first course, built in 1856 by a resident Scotsman.
Skiing
Ski lovers why not visit the upgraded resorts of Gourette and Pierre St Martin approx 75km away.
Travel
Own transport is recommended. Nearest airports: Pau 45 minutes drive. Biarritz 45 minute drive. Bordeaux 2 hours 30 minutes drive. Bibao 3 hours drive.
Nearest Ferry Ports: Bilbao 2.5 hours. Santander 4.5 hours. St Malo 10 hours.
Distances
With plenty of interesting places to visit in the region; call into the excellent tourist office in Salies de Bearn, where you can collect maps and specific information to meet your needs. Why not visit Sauveterre de Béarn (medieval defensive town), Navarrenx (the 1st bastioned city in France) and Orthez, the ancient capital of Béarn, all just a short drive away.
Further details
Salies to Bearn is a small but lively town which attracts tourists every summer. It has attracted visitors for over 100 years to bathe in its rich salt mineral water known for its beneficial properties for many medical conditions. Thursday is market day with an abundance of fresh local produce, clothes and jewellery on sale. There are excellent shops, bars and restaurants in the town together with a supermarket, banks, a cinema and a casino. Salies de Bearn's two main summer festivals are The Piperade in August and the Fete du Sel in September, but there are a host of smaller events throughout the year.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance payable at least 8 weeks prior to your arrival. A security deposit of £150 is required; this is totally refundable once there are no breakages or damage, either on departure or within 2 weeks. Payments can be made in Euro or Sterling (exchange rate determined on date of payment). Short breaks are possible, 3 days minimum, not available in July and August. Please contact the owner.
