Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday bookings only. Arrival time 2pm. Checkout time 10am.

High chair and cots are available at main reception (payable locally). No pets are allowed.
Accessibility
Although not specifically designed for disabled use, there is a bathroom and toilet on the ground floor and just a single step (the door threshold) to enter the property. Some of the gravel paths around the property may be difficult for wheelchair users.
Outside
Front and back garden with patio. Table and chairs to seat 6 with view towards the golf course (beautiful sunsets). Electric canopy. Power point. Shared swimming pool (open from early May to mid September), 3 tennis courts, boules area, Le Swing Bar (bar and cafe) and wonderful gourmet restaurant Le Balata all on site. No barbecues allowed.
Coast/Beach
8km to beautiful St Gilles Croix de Vie with three sandy beaches including the magnificent Grande Plage. L'Ecole de Surf for land yachting, windsurfing and other water sports. Lovely promenade with restaurants, public showers, changing rooms and WCs.
Golf
On 18 hole Golf des Fontenelles: Long spacious course with wide fairways and several water hazards. 9 hole course expected 2010. Driving range, practice pitching green and practice putting green. Golf professional available, good golf shop, buggies, clubs and trolleys available to hire. Club house facilities (Le Swing Bar) serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also gourmet restaurant, Le Belata.
Travel
All times approx by car: Airports: Nantes 1 hour. La Rochelle 2 hours. TGV: Nantes, La Rochelle, Le Sable d'Olonne (25 minutes) and Le Roche sur Yon 20 minutes. Train: Nantes to St Gilles Croix de Vie also available. Ports: St Malo 3 hours. Calais 7 hours.
Distances
Coëx 4km. Pretty village with supermarket, boulangerie, bars, restaurants. Also markets and excellent cave (wine shop). (Good, quiet cycle route to Coëx.)
St Gilles Croix de Vie 8km. Beautiful fishing/yachting coastal community with thriving market, shops, bars and restaurants. Regular various festivals.
Fishing lake Lac Gue Gorand 1km, Lac du Jaunay with Auberge and nature trails 4km. Velo rail, Commequiers 5km. Puy de Fou theme park 1.5 hrs. Futuroscope theme park 2 hours.

• Le Balata is a gourmet restaurant serving excellent local food and wine, overlooking the 18th green and countryside. At 200 meters away, you can enjoy a drink without worrying about driving home!
• Moulins des Gourmands 2Kms. Working windmill (tours available) with boulangerie and pizza restaurant. Informal, friendly and great value for money.
• Vinboiset in St Gilles is an upmarket restaurant with beautiful decor, specialising in freshly caught fish and seafood.
• Le Marlow on the promenade at the Grande Plage. Watch all the beach activities whilst enjoying a set 3 course menu €9 (approx). Please try the Herring, as it's our favourite starter.
• Large network of signposted cycle lanes starting from putting green to local villages/towns and beaches.
• Equestrian centre across the road.
• Beautiful botanical garden 'Jardin de Olfacties' at the local village of Coex. Delight your sense of smell with gardens from around the world. A great local attraction that will leave you feeling calm and serene whilst supporting a local environmental project. Great shop too!
• Casino and multiplex cinema in St Gilles Croix de Vie.
• Appremont Chateau and picturesque village with a quaint traditonal tabac/bar and a lovely hotel with restaurant. Very pleasant 4km cycle.
• Velo rail in Commequiers. Great family day out, bring picnic and enjoy the beautiful countryside on a pedal powered train!
• Puy de Fou theme park is an experience not to be missed, a great day (or two) out for all the family. Be transported back in local French history. The Roman occupation, the Viking invasion and the Battle du Donjon amongst many other fantastic attractions. The spectacular Cinescene is the night time piece de resistance! Has to be seen to be believed!
• Futuroscope is a cinematic theme park near Poitier. Fool your senses with IMAX 4D cinema effects and wrap around screens that even go under your feet! A must for techies.

About the owner
Alan and Mary-Clair Farrelly live in London and bought Green Village off-plan in 2006.
We try and stay here as much as possible, we love the area as it's quite an unknown part of France. The food, wine and people are just great we always come back to London feeling 10 years younger. Whatever age you are Green Village and St Gilles Croix de Vie has something to offer you.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We holidayed all over France looking for the perfect spot to buy a home. Green Village met all our requirements. From the golf course to the beautiful beaches with the perfect cycle paths and destinations we are never happier than when in Vendee.
Unique benefits of the property
We like nothing better than relaxing on the patio at night with a glass of locally produced wine, watching the sun set over the golf course and enjoying the quiteness and tranquility.
Although we love the golf course and swimming pool, during the day we like to cycle to all the local markets and attractions on the many beautiful cycle paths, which start right outside the door.
