Monaco and the Italian border are 45 mins drive: St Tropez is 1 1/2 hours - longer in the season.
Valbonne is surrounded by many medieval villages such as Mougins with its famous restaurants; Grasse for perfumeries and St Paul de Vence (the Fondation Maeght), Biot (Leger) and Cagnes (Renoir) for art lovers.
