Beaucens is ideally located at the crossroads of valleys leading to the most prestigious sites of the Hautes-Pyrénées and to the large ski resorts of Domain of Tourmalet, Luz, Gavarnie or Cauterets. The mythical passes wait for the confirmed cyclists. And for those for whom holidays rhyme with relaxation, the numerous thermal spas surrounding will welcome them in their baths, saunas and hammams. From the valley, you can easily go to bathe you in the ocean on the Basque coast, it takes 1.5 to 2 hours by road.

Notes on prices
Prices are for one of the gites per week in euros. Depending on the period, the gite can be rented for less than one week.
Changeover day
During July and August changeover day is Saturday and the rent for the whole week. For the rest of the year changeover day and stay duration are flexible.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with 1 double bed and 1 single bed opens on to the terrace facing south. Bedroom 2 with double bed and possibly a single bed. |
| Bathrooms: | Bathroom with shower and toilet. Separate 2nd shower. Separate toilet. |
| Kitchen: | Open kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas cooker with hob and microwave, coffee machine, electric kettle,toaster. |
| Living Rooms: | An open fireplace will warmed the atmosphere in winter and in summer you'll enjoy the direct access to the terrace and the garden. It's equipped with a large L-shape sofa and TV. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Bed and house linen are included, however our guests can bring them if they want, it'll be take off the price. Guests are requested to leave the gite in a clean and tidy condition. Final cleaning service is available for 35,00 €. |

Notes on accommodation
The detailed description concerns one of our 2 gites. They can each accommodates from 4 to 5 or 6 persons. Ideal for welcoming several families or several generation of a big family.
Outside
Our holiday cottages are each open on to a garden, equipped with outdoor furniture and barbecue.
Coast/Beach
Biarritz and the Basque Coast, well known for beaches and surfing, is approximately 1,5-2 hours drive. Perfect for refreshing ideas or sea food cure during a long stay in the Pyrenees!
Golf
Lourdes Golf Club is beautifully situated on the southern bank of the lake of Lourdes. Each hole of this woodland course offers magnificent views of the majestic Pyrenees mountains. The 18 hole course offers a variety of challenges to the golfer who appreciates a technical and physical round! 25 mins drive.
Skiing
Beaucens provides access to six ski resorts and 500 km of piste, including the largest one in the French Pyrenees:
Tourmalet/Bareges/La Mongie, within 100 km of piste and access to a huge freeride slope with the Pic du Midi lift. At the summit the most beautiful panorama of the Pyrenees and a museum on the astronomy.30mn.
Luz-Ardiden : with its nice village.45mn.
Gavarnie-Gedre, alpine and cross country nearby the prestigious Cirque de Gavarnie. It offers an imposing high-altitude decor accessible to everyone. You’ll be stepping in another dimension! 55 mn.
Cauterets, Alpine and Cross Country.20mn. Hautacam is a small familial ski resort for alpine and cross country, ideal for children and beginners.20mn.
Espace Nordique du Val d'Azun, 100km slope for cross-country and snowshoeing between Couraduque and Soulor passes. For your children a special park for ski learning and sledging 20 mn.
Special interest holidays
In summer, you can hike, bike and horse ride of course, but also raft down the rapids, climb 3000 m peaks, fly like eagles… There is no doubt that in our valleys you’ll find what you need to satisfy your thirst for discovery and desire to recharge your batteries !
If you're a climber you can not come here without tasting to the "Pyreneisme", equivalent of "Alpinisme" in the Pyrenees.
Skiing …and snow activities ! Enjoy the pleasures of winter with all activities snow can provide : alpin ski, ski touring, ice climbing, snow shoeing, sled dog treks, sledging, even ski joering (with horse)…
David is a High Mountain Guide and will really enjoy accompanying you in our wild mountains.
The gite is also just 15 minutes drive from Lourdes, which is one of the most important place of pilgrimage in the world.
Travel
The most convenient airport is Tarbes-Lourdes-Ossun, half a hour drive (30 km).
The airport of Pau is 1h drive.
The airport of Toulouse, 2h drive.
Lourdes train station is 20 mn drive (direct TVG from Paris).
A car is essential.

I live in the Pyrenees with David and our 2 children (a 2 years old boy and a little baby girl). David is a High Mountain Guide working in the valley and in many other mountains all over the world since 2000. Our objective is the creation of a Stopover Gite in our house.
