Notes on accommodation
The house and gardens are very quiet and would be ideal for a young family because the garden and gated courtyard are fully enclosed. The oil fired central heating heats the house well when needed. Wood for the fire in the lounge is stored in the garage and is included in the rental charge. Sorry, but we do not allow pets or smoking in the house.
Accessibility
All rooms are on the ground floor, however there is a step of around 10cm between dining room (front door is into dining room) and hall, a further 10cm step from hall into kitchen and a further 10cm step from kitchen to lounge. Access into lounge from garden facing double doors has no steps from courtyard.
Outside
A mature garden to the side and rear of the property with several fruit trees. Gravel courtyard with willow tree to the front of the property, space for parking 4 cars. Gas barbecue (please clean at the end of your stay), large outside table with 6 chairs. Plenty of shaded areas adjacent to house and in garden.

Visit the “Royal” Loire Valley (60 – 90 mins drive) and it’s array of magnificent chateaux, with striking architecture, beautiful gardens and wonderful views of the Loire. You can admire châteaux of various sizes and styles as you explore the ‘garden of France’. We personally have visited the Chateaux at Montreuil-Bellay, Chinon, Saumur, Villandry, (ornamental gardens), Azay le Rideau and Chenonceau. We would recommend them all but be selective !

Owner profile
About the owner
My wife Tracy and I are committed 'Francophiles' and have spent many years holidaying in France. We prefer 'real France' to the more popular tourist destinations, this philosophy led us to Vienne.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We wanted a rural house in 'real France' that was a comfortable days drive from our home in England. Vienne is a good example of an agricultural region of France that is not spoilt by overt tourism. Frontenay sur Dive is very quiet village yet the locals have a natural community spirit and are very friendly and helpful.
Unique benefits of the property
All you can hear in our garden is the sound of nature. We have complete privacy yet we know the local residents are a stones throw away if we need any help.
