The apartment is situated on the beach with direct beach access. It is west-facing and the balcony and sitting room benefit from magnificent sunsets over a panoramic sea view. It is on the first floor and therefore has superior sea-views over the protected dune area and the crescent-shaped beach. Visible and within ten minutes walk along the beach is the pretty local village, fishing port with specialist shops (bakeries, markets including fish-markets, pharmacies, charcuterie etc.), supermarkets, charming churches, restaurants and cafes as well as a watersports centre. There are several marinas, golf-courses, swimming pools and other sporting centres just a short drive away. The famous medieval walled town of Guerande is 5 mins away and La Baule (10 mins) offers luxury facilities from all sorts of watersports to tennis, polo and thalassotherapy. The apartment is situated in a small (now rare) beach development and the owners love this location so much they bought a nearby beachhouse!

Changeover Day is Saturday. Property available from 4.00 pm. Property to be vacated before 11.00 am on changeover day.

Notes on accommodation
We don't allow pets, sadly, and the beach is off-limits to animals in the summer months.
No smoking indoors although there are two private outdoor spaces for smokers (front garden and balcony).
Please book cot and high chair in advance.
Accessibility
Although people with mobility difficulties have been happy to rent this property, access is via a stairway and it is not wheelchair friendly (please contact owners re: other recommendations in the area. The beach has disabled facilities and ramp access for occasional wheelchair users and there are disabled WC facilities on the beach.
Outside
Front garden (all sand). One allocated parking space in parking area. Balcony, west-facing. Ideal for sunbathing, reading, dining and possibly barbecuing. BBQ supplied. The main attraction here is a family-friendly beach with facilities for all. it is flagged and lifeguard supervised in season but I swim almost all-year round.
Coast/Beach
On the beach! The beach is the main attraction here! The apartment is part of a block built on a west-facing beach with the breton islands of Belle Isle, Houat and Hoedic only a ferry ride away! Uninterrupted sea views and direct beach access!
Golf
Golf Internationale de La Baule is on our doorstep (20 mins drive) with its two wonderful 18 hole courses to challenge you and a 9 hole for the lazy days! It has a driving range, teaching facilities and a popular restaurant and bar facilities as well as a shop and all that you would expect from an excellent golf course. La Bretesche is @ 40 mins drive away and is set in the breathtaking grounds of the Chateau with impeccable facilities and a top-class spa. These two are the nearest first-class courses although golfing veterans among you will have other favourites!
Special interest holidays
Basic French Lessons/ (key phrases & orientation) may be possible if booked well in advance. Owner is a qualified teacher (in Britain and Ireland).
Travel
Nantes Airport 50 mins. Rennes Airport 1 hr 40 mins (also Lorient seasonally). St Malo ferryport 2 1/4 hours. Caen/Ouistreham ferryport 3 1/2 hours. Roscoff probably @ 3 1/2 please check on GPS.
Distances
The apartment is situated on the edge of a significant village / town La Turballe with all conveniences. Medieval walled town (Guerande) 10 mins drive. Major french seaside resort La Baule 15 mins drive. Breton fishing ports and marinas all 10-15 mins drive. Oceanarium, museums -15 mins to 50 mins. TGV station (Nantes, Paris, Lille etc. etc.) 15 mins. Salt marshes(5 mins walk) Museum nearby. Beach, forest and country walks and cycling on the doorstep!
Further details
This area was traditionally part of Southern Brittany and retains its breton culture and local festivals. These are usually held in the summer months.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We love the area as it is a genuine french fishing village with a wonderful expanse of beach. All conveniences are locally available yet the area with its beautiful coastline, seascapes, famous salt marshes, historic locations; is unspoilt. We have windsurfed, swam, played golf, sailed, taken out our powerboat (around the Gulf of Morbihan and the islands), cycled, gone to spas and thalasso centres, tasted the Loire wines, visited the Loire Chateaux or just lazed at home with a sundowner. In fact we love the location so much we wanted to share it with family and friends so bought a house a little further along the same beach. The area is a photographer's/artist's dream whether your eye is drawn by the wonderful sunsets or seagulls eagerly following the trawlers into the little harbour!
Unique benefits of the property
We love living on the beach. No roads to cross! It is an unspoilt beach with a protected sand dune. It has that elusive mixture of a genuine french community with lots of conveniences nearby. The crescent sweep of the beach offers the choice of long walks from one village to another, sunbathing or water sports. This coast offers wonderful seafood, wines, scenery, festivals and all sorts of sports and activities for those who love nature and culture. We are happy to supply specific information according to requests.
