La Grange is our restoration of an 18th century chai, designed for a great holiday experience. Beautiful setting with superb views over valley and vines. 6 en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor for coolness and the upstairs rooms - 2 magnificent vaulted and beamed 70m2 salons - have great views and a balcony. There is a luxury kitchen with American fridge. Wi-fi, full screen video projector and surround sound system with DVD/CD and satellite free-to-air. A circular staircase takes you down to a candlelit cellar, ideal for tastings. Laundry room. Full central heating, washing machine, drier, all linen and towels provided, cots/high chairs as required. Securitized pool, 10 x 5m, table-tennis, 1 acre garden, parking, 12 sun loungers, parasols, table, chairs, BBQ. Small garden opening onto vineyard.

Marvellous views southwards over the vineyards and valley. private and fenced pool, 10 metres by 5, 1 metre deep for half its length, deepening to 2.2 metres. Table tennis. Barbecue, table, chairs, parasol on the terrace beside the pool. 12 sun loungers are provided for sunbathing. Parking for 6 cars alongside house.

Coast/Beach
The Atlantic coast at Arcachon is 90 mins away. There is a good sandy beach with pedalos, bar/restaurant at Lac du Caddy, 15 mins away. The Dune of Pyla, south of Arcachon has spectacular beaches and views, and a great restaurant.

Chateau Vigiers is 20 mins away.

Airlines cover all UK, BA, Flybe, Easyjet, bmibaby, also direct flights from Dublin, Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris. Train TGV arrives from Paris/Lille/London at Libourne, 30 mins away.

Further details
Canoeing on the Dordogne is a great experience. Our chef's private table d'hote restaurant is within walking distance. Local supermarkets in Ste Foy, plus famous Saturday market. Lots of good restaurants. St. Emilion is amazing, historic and beautiful. Bergerac is 25 mins to east, gateway to the beautiful Dordogne valley and its chateaux.

About the owner
My wife works for Bombardier, the global train co. based in Berlin and I live between Berlin, Bordeaux, and Cambridge - difficult to beat. I have been an entrepreneur for 20 years, before that I ran Ellerman Travel & helped found Keycamp Holidays after a brilliant family holiday with our own tent. We own 6 houses near Gensac and Ste. Foy-la-Grande, and I have managed all the restoration projects. My aim is to provide EXPERIENCES, not justholidays, with the best holiday accommodation, - luxury kitchens, all bedrooms en-suite, cinemas, wifi, hi-fi, satellite TV and large securitised pools. I organise the celebrated Orpheus & Bacchus Music & Wine Festival, with concerts in May 21-27(the 4th Hummel Festival), July1-6 (Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra), and Sept 1-6, (Sinfonia d'Amici).

Why the owner chose a home in this location
La Grange was an old chai in the grounds of our first property, Thebot, but if you climbed up on the roof there were magnificent views of the valley to the south. Having the benefit of a great builder, I designed the house to be the ideal holiday property in the shell of the chai. So all bedrooms are en-suite on the ground floor, making them cool even in the hottest summer, and the large upstairs rooms have great views. Part of the design was to ensure complete isolation from Thebot, rendering it invisible from La Grange. The area has a great climate, enough rain, usually at night with spectacular electric storms, to keep things green, but mainly hot and sunny. Lots to see and do - St. Emilion, Bordeaux, Bergerac. Absolutely peaceful, yet many good restaurants in nearby Ste. Foy.

Unique benefits of the property
Ideally positioned between two main airports and for train. In the depth of he countryside, but just outside Ste. Foy. Lots of great vineyards and wines, historic sites, and all sorts of sports - canoeing a must. Privacy of en-suite bedrooms. Great cinema experience. Coolness of ground floor bedrooms. Any additional requirements can almost always be met. A friend who lives 400m away is happy to let my clients use her tennis court - a bottle of good white burgundy in compensation. Options include mini-bus rental, chef, maid service, exceptional wine cellar (Burgundies and Bordeaux at great prices), a DVD library for the exceptional big screen (10 DVDs per pack).
