Villa and independant studio apartment. Attractively and comfortably furnished with private outside terrace for summer dining (BBQ supplied). Seillans has a small supermarket, baker, butcher, chemist, newspaper shop for everyday needs and there are weekly open-air markets in the local villages. There are many restaurants to choose from ranging from simple to elegant and priced accordingly. Walking, gliding, cycling, golf, rowing and the beaches and cultural activities of the riviera are within easy reach, or, just chill out by the pool or under the shade of the palm tree. The main house sleeping 4 (1 double bedded room and bathroom and 1 twin bedded room with shower room on ground floor)
and independant studio (sleeping 2) are rented together from mid-June until mid-September. At other times the studio only may be rented when the owner may be in residence. Guests in the studio have use of the garden and unheated pool (when open for the season).

Notes on prices
Although prices shown are for a week's stay - a minimum stay of 3 nights in the studio is also possible except during the months mid-June to mid-September when the whole property (house and studio) must be taken for a period of 1 week minimum stay. For longer stays (1 month+) prices may be negotiable. Winter lets may be subject to a supplement for heating. Please note that the price of £350 is for the studio only in low season.
Changeover day
Change over day may be flexible. Arrival time normally between 4pm and 6pm (16.00 and 18.00) - departure by 10 am on final day.

Notes on accommodation
The house and studio have electric heating and electric blankets are provided for winter lets in the studio. The house is on 2 levels but with 5 steps down to the salon area. Upstairs the bedroom and bathroom have sloping ceilings. There are several terraces around the house for outside dining, each with tables and chairs. There is a second fridge in the utility room for bottles which frees up space in the kitchen fridges. The studio offers a private space for friends or grandparents wishing to holiday with the family but who like to have their own space to retreat to from time to time.
Accessibility
Neither the house or studio are suitable for people with mobility problems, nor do we think this property is suitable for children under 5 as there are many unguarded drops in the terraced garden. There is plenty of parking space for cars.
Outside
Garden of 1 acre with olive trees, palms, figs etc. Private pool 8 x 4 x l.60m deep (no shallow end) with poolside furniture and parasols. The pool is at present unheated.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of Cannes, St. Raphael, St. Tropez, Port Grimaud are all within 1 hours drive (traffic permitting).
Golf
The outstandingly beautiful golf courses of Terre Blanche 10 mins. St Endreol La Motte 20 mins. Chateau de Taulane 45 mins. as well as many others in the Var and Alpes Maritime.
Skiing
Small ski resort of Greolieres is about 40 minutes away, a longer journey will take you to La Foux d'Allos, Isola 2000, where you can enjoy a day's skiing or rent a small studio for a couple of nights during weekdays for a very reasonable rate.
Travel
Nice airport 45 minutes drive The railway stations of St. Raphael or Cannes are about 1 hour away from Seillans. Both have hire car facilities close by. If you are driving down the exit from the A8 autoroute is about 30 or 40 mins from Seillans.
Distances
Seillans lies midway between Grasse and Draguignan both about 30km away. Aix en Provence - just over 1 hour. Monaco just over 1 hour. Italy (Ventimiglia market) 1.1/2 hours. The coastal towns of Cannes, St. Maxime, St. Raphael, St Tropez are 1 to 2 hours drive away in summer traffic! You can drive to St. Raphael and take the ferry to St. Tropez in the morning and back again in the afternoon to avoid the traffic in high summer.
Further details
There is a cash dispensing machine outside the post office in Seillans and Credit Agricole bank which is open some afternoons/mornings each week. Fayence has many major banks and cash dispenser. You can enjoy a summer evening walk and dinner under the plane trees at one of the local restaurants in Seillans. During the first 2 weeks of August there is a music festival based in Seillans (Musique Cordiale). This international group of musicians and singers give a series of concerts and opera evenings in Seillans and the surrounding villages. The last weekend of July is the Fete de Seillans with music and 'aioli' (garlic mayonnaise with cod, boiled potatoes, carrots etc. - a provencal speciality!) served in some of the village restaurants. You may be lucky enough to be here when one of the local art galleries has a 'vernissage' evening. The neighbouring villages also have their village 'Fetes' with dancing in the square in Fayence in September and there are many concerts in the local churches throughout the year.

If you would like to stay, please reserve your booking by ringing me in France to ascertain availability. A deposit of 25% is required with the booking,balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival date.
Cancellation: Please note that there is no refund of DEPOSIT if the holiday is cancelled. If I'm able to resell the cancelled period after full payment, a refund may be made less bank charges incurred by me. Adequate Travel Insurance should cover such an eventuality.

About the owner
My companion and I spend most of our year here in Seillans with our dog, a very friendly 'staffie'. We travel to the west of France where my daughter lives and to south Germany where my son and his family live, so we are not always in residence. At the time of writing we have just finished harvesting the olives from the trees in the garden and have collected our oil from the mill in Seillans. Very satisfying to have our own olive oil!
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
I have lived in this beautiful corner of France for the last 25 years having first visited the area in 1970. From then until purchasing our first house in Seillans in 1985 we came every year to the same rental property, we just could not do without our "French fix"! Although the surrounding area has changed with many more facilities, Seillans has remained remarkably unspoilt and the beautiful village "Places" with their fountains and restaurants under the plane trees make this a very special village. The close but peaceful proximity of this property to the village makes walking to and from one of the local restaurants on a balmy evening a real pleasure.
Unique benefits of the property
The property is a 5-10 minute walk from the village of Seillans where you will find all daily food requirements, doctor, baker, chemist, dentist etc. It is not remote but is secluded and private.
