Overlooking Ancient Church and Square of Beautiful Medieval Village
Sleeps 2-3 (2 Bedrooms)

Le Monastère is a sensitive conversion of a former convent, set within extensive grounds bounded by Vouvant’s fortified ramparts and river. Our first floor apartment overlooks the centre of the village which, with its rich medieval heritage and splendid Romanesque church dating from the 11thC, is decribed by the state as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village is also a centre for art, with working ateliers and a calendar of cultural events. The village shops include a boulangerie (for the daily baguette), a grocer, gift shops, cafés and restaurants. Slightly further afield, within 10-20 mins drive, are all the amenities of typical French market towns. The region boasts the highest number of sunshine hours on the Atlantic coast and a wide range of attractions: quaint villages, chic resorts, medieval architecture, haunting canal-crossed marshland, ancient forests, sandy beaches, walking, cycling, golf, markets, regional cuisine and the vineyards of the Fiefs Vendéens.

Guest comments
Maureen and Carl from Sheffield – “We had a fantastic time at your apartment, which is beautiful. It was also, without doubt, the best equipped place we have stayed in in France (the 12th gite we've been in). Thank you so much for thinking of all the things which just make life easier.”
Ann and Michael from West Yorkshire – “Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The apartment is lovely, much larger than impression given on website. A hidden gem. We enjoyed the tranquility of 'Le Monastere' and had a relaxing stay. We have booked for two weeks next year already!”
Denis and Denise from Merseyside – “You have a lovely property in a lovely location, I hope you have years and years of pleasure owning it. It was very helpful to be met, shown around and immediate questions answered. We will certainly be thinking of Vouvant the next time we are looking at France for a holiday.”
