We offer a 'home-from-home' holiday experience: Providing so much more than your usual self-catering holiday, we pride ourselves on offering you a relaxed & comfortable stay. For kids we have lots of entertainment available. There are numerous games, plus DVDs, and a trampoline. The gardens are completely enclosed & there's plenty of parking. The village of Mohon provides basic amenities, including a mini market & baker's (essential for those freshly baked croissants!) bank, Post Office, & a bar. Everything is within 2 minutes walk of the house. 10 minutes drive north of the lovely medieval town of Josselin, with its grand chateau, the Nantes-Best canal, interesting shops & bustling Saturday market. We leave lots of info in the properties, including maps, guide books & recommendations of where to eat. Complimentary Welcome Pack including local produce. Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Please enquire for short break prices. Prices include electricity, gas, water etc. From 1st October to 31st March there is an additional charge of €35 per week to cover the additional cost of wood/fuel for heating, payable on arrival. We charge a 25% deposit on booking (minimum £100) and the full rental is due 8 weeks before arrival. We ask for a £150 security/breakage deposit. Ask for a discount code for Brittany Ferries.

Changeover day
Usually Saturday but are negociable especially out of season. Short breaks offered except in July and August.

Accommodation

L'Étable offers rustic and cosy 2 bedroom accommodation, and can sleep up to 5. This property is particularly suited to couples or to families with children and pre-schoolers and we have added extra safety features with the latter in mind. It's a single storey property with an airy, rustic feel. Open plan kitchen and living area, with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer. This has a real rustic feel with a huge dresser, butler's sink unit and a round table for convivial dining. Cosy living area with comfortable sofas and a wood-burning stove. TV for use with DVDs only. One double bedroom featuring a bed with a definite 'wow' factor! One other bedroom with a high sleeper bunk bed, with a double sofa bed underneath (or can be used as a single bed for a smaller child). Bathroom with full size bath and shower over.

La Maison Blanche is a characterful detached property with a real French feel. There's a kitchen/diner with oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer, a spacious living room with open fire, and TV with UK channels and DVD/Video player, downstairs bathroom with 3/4 bath and shower over. To the rear of the property there's a sunny conservatory with an extra table and chairs. Upstairs the double bedroom is decorated in a lovely plum and cream scheme. This has a useful basin unit, as well as clothes storage. The second bedroom has bunk beds plus an ensuite loo, and the third bedroom is actually on the mezzanine which has a double sofa bed, and can be screened for privacy. There is plenty of storage in the large built in wardrobes that run along the landing. Outside is a fully enclosed garden, with BBQ and patio furniture, plus a trampoline with safety enclosure.

 

Notes on accommodation
In L'Étable we have a safety barrier for the wood-burner if required and extra child-friendly features, including use of a steriliser, cupboard locks, plastic plates and cutlery, potty, baby bath, 2 x high chairs, booster seat, toddler toys. 2 travel cots available and cot linen is provided. Please let us know if you are travelling with small children. WIFI available - bring your own laptop. Garden is fully enclosed. Dogs welcome (extra £15 charge). Book both properties at the same time for a larger party, and we offer a 10% discount off the total rental price. We can accommodate parties of up to 11 in the two properties. Discount on Brittany Ferries. Welcome pack: We provide a comprehensive welcome pack, which includes lots of local produce: On your arrival you will find, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, home-made jam, local fresh free range eggs, bottle of local cider, bottle of wine, spread, baguette, paté, Breton biscuits, crêpes, orange juice, pasta and sauce and mineral water.

Accessibility
L'Étable is all on one floor with just one step up to the front door, so may well be suitable for those with mobility problems.

Outside
Children have use of swings and a 14 ft trampoline in L'Etable. There's a further trampoline at La Maison Blanche. Both properties have patio furniture and a BBQ. Both gardens are enclosed. L'Etable's garden is particuarly big. Plenty of parking at both properties.

Coast/Beach
Lac au Duc is less than 15 minutes drive away. It offers safe swimming and water-sports, water slides and a lakeside bar/restaurant.

Southern and Northern beaches are around 45mins-60 mins away by car.

Golf
L'Hotel Roi Arthur, next to the Lac au Duc is situated 15 minutes away and has a beautiful 9 hole golf course.

Special interest holidays
French language holidays. As the owner is a qualified french teacher, language lessons are available at an extra charge to guests. These can be for adults, children or for a family group. Please enquire. Geocaching holidays. If you would like to try geocaching we have a folder of local Geocaches available, and can provide you with maps, a handheld gps, and 'treasure' for swapping when you find the geocaches. We also have a file of over 50 local 'waymarked' walks if you prefer to explore this region on foot.

Hi. We are Philippa and Allan. We're in our forties and look forward to welcoming you to our little corner of Brittany, where the roads are so quiet and driving is a pleasure not a chore!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We've been the proud owners of our own little corner of Brittany since September 2005, when we fell in love with the location and charm. Mohon village is so typical of many Breton villages with old houses and a huge church at the centre. Our neighbours are lovely and everyone is so friendly! We love sitting out in the peace and quiet with a glass (or two!) Our children have so much fun in the garden on the swings and trampoline. We also love the Lac au Duc, just 15 minutes away, and Josselin, and Ploermel, and there's just too much to mention! This is a great holiday location for all the family!

We do our utmost to try to make your holiday experience one of 'home from home' so have added lots of personal touches to enhance your stay. We live close by in La Ferme, so are on hand if you need anything. We have a wealth of information in the property, and personal recommendations of where to eat and places to go.
