La Roseraie is a pretty rose clad cottage ideal for couples who want to relax and enjoy a little peace and space set in enclosed gardens with views over the pool and terrace area. An idyllic, peaceful retreat, yet close to all the activity you may wish for. In only 45 minutes, you can be on the fantastic, sandy West Coast beaches. The world-renowned Puy du Fou leisure park and amazing Son et Lumiere is close by and highly recommended. You may like to visit some of the many rivers and lakes in the area, which boast good fishing, walking and cycling. The Venise Vert with its miles of interlocking canals and waterways is a great place to visit. La Rochelle, Ile De Re and Nates are all 50 mins and great for shopping. Fontenay le Comte the former renaissance capital of Vendee is just 15mins with a year round weekly market. Historic Vouvant & Mervent are 15 mins and the cathedral town of Lucon 10 mins.

Outside
Recently installed below ground pool with 70m2 teak deck ideal for relaxing with an easy to use effortless electronic key operated floating security cover. Set in gardens of approx 1/2 acre with fruit orchard. All reserved for your private use. 4 Sunbeds provided, 2 parasols, BBQ table and chairs - Great for outside dining or simply relaxing with a coll glass of wine. Pool is cleaned twice weekly.
Coast/Beach
Beaches approx 45 min drive. Best beach in our opinion La Faute sur Mer with pine forest and miles of clean sand! Ideal day out picnic in the forest then spend the afternoon on the beach. Surfing beach 50 mins.
Travel
La Rochelle 1 hour (Ryanair) and TGV. Nantes 1 hour (Ryanair) and TGV. St Malo - Ferry port 3 hours. Cean - Ferry Port 3.5 hrous. Calais - Tunnel and ferry 6.5 hours.
Distances
St Juire - Possibly the best restaurant in Vendee 2km.
Ste Hermine - Supermarket/restaurants 4km. Chantonnay - Hypermarket/restaurants 4km. Fontenay le Comte - Markets/restaurants 16km. Lucon - restaurants 16km. Beaches 1 hour. Fishing and picnic 5 mins. Zoo 20 mins. Horse riding 30 mins. Wine tour 20 mins.

About the owner
Let us welcome you to what we believe is one of the best parts of France. We live close to the properties and will be on hand to meet you and provide you with any local knowledge you may need for your stay in the sunny Vendee.
We also operate an estate agency business, helping others to achieve the dream of buying a home in the region and we will be happy to assist with any info for those thinking of buying.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We purchased La Roseraie in 1999, originally for our own use as a holiday home, having fallen in love with region, people & climate. We found the Vendee region was an area as far south as we could easily reach with out spending too much time in the car yet benefitting from a warmer micro climate, which we could enjoy for long week-ends and year round breaks. After several years visiting, we began to feel more at home in France & decided to move over full time in 2004 and brought a farmhouse in a nearby village. We hope you enjoy La Roseraie as much we have.
Unique benefits of the property
While staying in the village a must do for lovers of French food is a night at the restaurant St George - owned by a welcoming French couple Willy & Valerie they offer a fine dining experiance not to be missed.
During early July there are a host of local events for Bastille day including a 4 day street music festival in La Rochelle (45mins) while in August there are many village fetes and medieval events with jousting, dining, music and theatre for all the family.
