Enjoy a peaceful stroll around the landscaped garden or on the surrounding country roads to the river Dronne and the delightful sunsets that we have. The property set in 2 acres of land, looks onto rolling grassed fields and tree's hence the name Chez Vista. Dating back to the 17th century when it once produced its very own wine, there character still remains with open beams and stoned walls throughout. Pool on decking great for sunbathing Private veranda by the pool with chairs great for a poolside meal.Also Private area with picnik bench for BBQ's. We offer livery for horses with a small arena to ride in.(Hay&Water included) We have a trampoline for children to use (Great for tireing them out!!)

Changeover day
Saturday. However this is flexible depending on the duration of your visit and season. We ask for guests to leave by 10:30 on the change over day and arrive after 16:00.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The main bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has bunk beds. We have and extra single bed available to place on the landing. Also a cot for a baby. |
| Bathrooms: | The bathroom is situated between the two bedrooms with a Bath/Shower, WC and vanity unit with big mirror. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen, lounge and dining facilities are all provided in one very large room (not divided by obstacles such as stairs or low beams). The spacious kitchen area has everything you would need and has recently been refurnished. |
| Utility Room: | Iron Board, Sweeping brush, Mop and Bucket,Highchair, Baby bath. |
| Living Rooms: | Large Fire Place with Wood burning stove.(We supply wood in Winter) Small tv, Lots of books, Sofa With 2 Chairs. |

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen and towels are supplied. Pool towels are however not. Whilst people are staying in the Gîte clean bedding will be provided each Saturday and a cleaning service for an extra cost if you require, we clean the gîte thoroughly between clients. |

Notes on accommodation
The Gîte is apart of a large farmhouse where me and my daughter live. (Were not far if you need help or have any questions!)
We have Spanish & Belguim neighbours who can help with translation.
My daughter speaks very good French if you need help translating some common things for going to the shops and resturants.
Outside
Outside the front door is a south facing patio with a table and chairs that look onto the pool and picturesque countryside - perfect for meals or smokers as we do not permit smoking indoors. Around the decked in ground swimming pool we have lounge chairs, large picknick table with shade for Barbecue's. Also the veranda by the pool with table and four chairs.We sell fresh eggs daily. My daughter owns a horse and she is willing to take people for a walk on him. Possible livary for horse owners 8Euro Per Day (Hay & Water included. (Perfect for Chalais International Showjumping -15minute drive away) We have a Large Trampoline outdoors for children. Bikes for loan.
Coast/Beach
Aubeterre beach on the river Dronne - 2.9 km (about 3 mins in the car and 20 mins walking). St Aulaye beach on the river Dronne - 11 km. Parcoul beach (Le paradu) and Brossac beach (L'Etang Vallier) - both only 30min drive. Royan beach on the coast - Just over an hour in the car. La Rochelle - Just over 2 hours.
Golf
There are several golf courses nearby.
Special interest holidays
Their is a painting class down the road.
Kayaking, Very good you rent them out for either the day or hours and make it back by the set time. Very good my daughter has been 3 times.
Travel
Angouleme-Cognac and Bergerac airports are at an equal distance (about an hour in the car). Bordeaux is about an hour and a half drive and Limoges about 2 and a half hours. Car hire is essential as the taxi prices in this region are very expensive.
Distances
We are only 15 minute drive from Riberac where there is an international market every Friday morning and only 10 minutes from Chalais where there is again another large market on Monday mornings. Chalais has a link to the TGV railway and a laundrette. Aubeterre however is just down the road where their is a small market is a Sunday morning and have lots of tourist attractions - it was the most beautiful village in France in 1993 and is still in the top 100 today. Aubeterre has a river beach.
Further details
We are located between the village on Saint Antoine de Cumond (Dordogne) and the small hamlet of Ragot which is apart of the village of Laprade (Charente) - the sister village of Aubeterre-sur-dronne. The property is located in a rural area with lots of quiet country roads that are ideal for runners, cyclists or those who enjoy peaceful walks! Aubeterre-sur-dronne has many attractions including a beach, canoe/ kayaking rentals and lessons, tennis,horse riding, football, golf, restaurants and bars, chateaux, and churches. Its a great place for a holiday especially for Brits as most people in this village speak good English. The are many good restaurants under a 10 minute drive. There's no need to even leave the gîte to make it your holiday - why not relax in the pool in the evening whilst the kids are in bed. We have a trampoline especially to tire them out!

Ive been living in France for 5 years now. Moved over here with my 2 daughters Sarah & Emma. Sarah now lives in England because of work. I am a landskape Gardener. Renovated the house by myself along with help from Emma and Sarah. We are originally from a town near the Lakes Districts in Cumbria. I enjoy living in France its very relaxed life style compared to the UK.
