Large farmhouse located in the Vendee region, ideal for Puy du Fou. Ideal for medium and larger families and groups of friends. Tranquil location but within easy reach of many attractions and about 1 hour from the coast. Lots of safe walks and cycle rides in beautiful undulating countryside. Also close to the Mervent forest.

One of these villages is pretty Mouilleron-en-Pareds (birth place of Georges Clemenceau and Jean Lattre de Tassigny).
2 major towns (Chantonnay and La Chataignerie) within 10 miles.
Fontenay le Comte (ex capital of Vendee with Renaissance architecture and good market on a Saturday) is 15 miles away.
Puy du Fou is a 45 minute drive.
About the Owner
Hi. We're Neil and Gordon and we own a large old gite in the rolling countryside of the Vendee in France. We've had the place since 2003 and would like to share it with others who enjoy the beautiful Vendee area.
The property is ideally located for touring the Vendee: half an hour's drive to Puy de Fou; and about an hour from the beaches at La Tranche sur Mer and the cities of Nantes, La Rochelle and Angers.
The property has 4 large bedrooms (incl one with an en-suite bathroom), a large dining room and a large sitting room with a real log fire. It has a well equipped kitchen and about half an acre of garden set to grass and trees.

Why this location?
We wanted a place to stay in France that was both close enough to travel for a long weekend and warmer in the summer than the South of England. We also wanted somewhere that was in the country, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life in the city, and fairly close to the coast.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
We've managed to chill out every time we've been there! Most of our friends have visited (some several times) and have all enjoyed themselves. It's a great place to go for long walks and cycle rides, enjoy local towns and markets or just sipping some wine in the sunny garden. Equally, in winter, it is great to be locked up with a real log fire on the go, enjoying good food and wine in the company of good friends.
