Water Mill Cottage is adjoining the Moulin de Pommier a very old Perigordian mill steeped in history. Located on the river bank in a small hamlet. Facilities include an out of ground swimming pool with raised sun decks over looking the river, an excellent BBQ The cottage provides an ideal location for one to relax and enjoy the river and is well situated for exploring the many chateaus and castles and pretty villages in the area. 1km from the village and 20 mins by car to the beautiful City of Perigueux with twice weekly markets.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday and guests will be expected to leave the cottage by 10am. Arrival time for guests is not before 4pm on Saturday please.
A deposit of 50 pounds is required on arrival and is refunded on departure if the cottage is left clean.

Sorry but not a suitable holiday home for small children because of the river. and not suitable for wheelchairs.
Outside
Large parking area, wonderful riverside terrace with sun chairs, dining table and chairs with cushions and sun shades all provided.
Excellent BBQ and a swimming pool complex with raised sit out decks over looking the river.
Golf
A municipal golf course is situated on the outskirts of Perigueux some 25 minuets by car and a private 9 hole Golf course is located to the north at Excideuil some 15 minutes away and with very reasonable green fees.
Travel
Water Mill Cottage is approximately 1 hour drive from Bergerac or Limoges airport and one and a half hours drive from Bordeaux airport. 6 hours drive from Caen. 8 hours drive from Cherbourg. Channel ports approximately. If traveling by air car hire is essential.
Distances
The Water Mill Cottage is situated in the hamlet of Pommier 1km from the village of Savignac les Eglises where there are several shops a bar and a restaurant.
20 mins drive to the beautiful ancient city of Perigueux with its cobbled streets many fabulous shops and restaurants, cinema, ancient Roman amphitheatre remains and the splendid cathedral of St Front Perigueux has a twice weekly market.

About the owner
My Wife and I retired to France in 2004 and love living here. I am a Naval Architect by profession but no longer practice.
I spend my time Fishing and boating on the river that runs passed our Water Mill and growing Vegetables and fruit that my Wife makes into jams and chutneys.
We live a simple good life.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose a home in this location
I was a high flier working for a big international company based in London. During my career we spent 5 years in Singapore, 4 years in the Middle East ,6 years in Africa and 2 years in Australia..
On returning to UK we purchased a Residential Care home that My wife ran very successfully for 9 years but the bureaucracy became to much to bear so we sold out and moved to France.
Unique benefits of the property
Boating is my life so living on the banks of a river is my life long dream. I love just messing about in a boat and fishing.
The house is a magical place with wonderful rooms and views over the river. Every day I wake to the sound of the river running over the weir. What could be more relaxing.
