The apartment is in Aiguille Grive III (the most spacious of the Aiguille Grive complex) set on a wooded, mountainside location in the liveliest of the Les Arcs resorts, Arc 1800. Adjacent to the Charmettoger chair lift, the apartment offers immediate access to the main slopes of Les Arcs, which, linked with La Plagne, together make up the glorious Paradiski domain. Ski on glaciers, explore extensive off-piste, cruise the 425km piste area through tree lined valleys and dramatic high mountains. There is a convenient ski hire shop, ski pass office and patisserie below the apartment, while it is just a short walk to the commercial village of restaurants, bars, music, delicatessens, supermarkets, banks, cinema (screening some English films), ice-rink, bowling alley and ski schools. Golfing enthusiasts will discover the golf course on the slope directly above the apartment block. Other Summer activities include tennis, swimming, horse-riding, mountain biking and canoeing in the valley.

Please note Christmas 2012 and New Year 2012/2013 weeks are both currently available. Half-Term Sat 16th - Sat 23rd Feb 2013 is booked.
Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday, with arrival after 5pm and departure by 10am. Where possible, dates and times are flexible to allow you to make the most of your stay, should bookings and cleaning either side allow.

Notes on accommodation
2 floor apartment with balcony. Well heated with plenty of hot water. Extensive wardrobes and storage throughout. Upstairs layout consists of double bedroom, next to separate bunk bedroom, then bathroom with toilet and basin, then separate corner sleeping area with second set of bunk beds. Downstairs consists of lounge with flatscreen TV, comfortable convertible double sofa-bed, fully equipped 'American style' kitchen and separate second toilet with basin. Same floor access door to ski slopes and chairlift, 4th floor lift access from main road entrance to building.
Access to building and lifts is by security computerised key fob, via all entrances.
There is an undercover car park opposite the apartment, with outside parking within walking distance.
Internet wi-fi is available 'pay-as-you-go' within the apartment and free in local bars.
Outside
South west facing balcony overlooks valley towards mountain view. Small table and 2 bench seats. Apartment block sits on mountainside, with pathways through trees to slopes and pedestrianised commercial areas. Road access to car parking and main entrance, (side entrance only in summer months when access is snow free). You can get away without a car in the resort. Much of the resort is traffic free, with cars only really used on arrival or departure, or for deliveries.
Golf
Golfing enthusiasts will find the golf courses (9 and 18 hole) on the slope immediately above the apartment block, with the driving range nearby.
Skiing
The Vanoise Express links Les Arcs with La Plagne to give 425kms of piste!
With fantastic access to the slopes, and few queues, there is great skiing for all levels, from beginner to explorer. You will find purple nature trails for the young, green forest runs, cruisy blue runs, exciting reds and challenging blacks.
For variety add the off-piste, the high level glacier runs (Aiguille Rouge summit is 3226m), the snow parks for boarders, cross-country trails (15km), snow shoeing, sledging (with or without huskies), ski-joëring (horse drawn skiing), ice skating or a visit to the Ice Grotto.
Then there is the new exhilarating high altitude luge track in Arc 2000 for the daring and night skiing for those with any left over energy!
Nearby ski resorts include St Foy on the other side of Bourg St Maurice circa 40mins by car, and further afield: La Rosière, Val d'Isère/Tignes and Les Trois Vallées.
Travel
Air to Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble or Chambery. Rail to Bourg St Maurice (Eurostar direct to Bourg St Maurice, or change at Paris for an overnight sleeper to arrive early hours in Bourg St Maurice). The Funicular railway runs from Bourg St Maurice up the mountain to Arc 1600 which connects by free shuttle bus to Arc 1800.
For those driving without 'snow tyres', snow chains are recommended, indeed become mandatory in snowy/icy conditions on the mountain road between Bourg St Maurice and Les Arcs.
Distances
The nearest town for connections is Bourg St Maurice which sits in the valley below Les Arcs. Access is by road 20mins or free Funicular railway found just behind the main railway station, 7mins to Les Arcs 1600 and onward free shuttle bus to Arc 1800.
Further details
Les Arcs own TV and radio station keeps you up to date with piste openings, weather, news and events. Internet access (wi-fi) is available in many bars, restaurants and hotels. The friendly tourist office based in Le Charvet 1800 provides up to date information on travel and resort happenings. The weekly free entertainment guide is available throughout the resort in shops and venues.

Booking is confirmed by 300 euros returnable damage/cancellation deposit. Balance is payable 6-8 weeks minimum prior to booking.

Unique benefits of the property
What I love about this quiet apartment is it’s location. Few metres away from the normally queue-free Charmettoger lift, it offers easy access to all Les Arcs skiing, including the Transarc gondola rising to the open sunny slopes of Arc 2000, or in one run, a ski to the Vanoise Express lift linking to La Plagne, via Vallandry tree lined slopes on those ‘white-out’ days. I can then ski home to the apartment block and carry skis just a few strides to my front door. The Charmettoger lift itself serves some of the best tree skiing for when it is snowing heavily. Discover a huge variety of skiing ranging from genteel slopes to tricky moguls, hidden off-piste, boarder cross for the daring, even a water-slide for the brave, with always an ‘energy stop’, alpine restaurant, or picnic rock nearby!
