The rural location with several randonnee tracks on the doorstep is ideal for the on-site pony riding with qualified (British Horse Society) instructor. Take a stroll through the orchard down to the lake or borrow our mountain bikes (small, medium and large) plus baby seat and children’s bicycles/tricycle to explore. The child friendly and floriferous enclosed courtyard has a huge sandpit, swings, chute and climbing frame. For the sporting we have badminton, table tennis, croquet and petanque, alternatively pour yourself a glass of wine and relax in the hammock or loungers in the shade of mature trees. From the courtyard a child safety gate leads to the heated pool with panoramic views over the Charente Dordogne border. Home cooked meals delivered to your door - ideal for the evening of your arrival, meals are ready to heat in the oven.

All on one level Albizia has a spacious open plan living area with high vaulted ceilings and exposed oak beams. Satellite television (UK). French doors open onto enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ perfect for those summer evenings. The country style kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and coffee maker. Notes on accommodation
Cots, high chairs, baby monitors, booster seats, bed guards etc are available free of charge. A selection of games and books can be found in each gite.
A disabled shower chair and large wheeled shower chair are available, additional disabled equipment can be provided.
Accessibility
All accommodation at Lymerac has been designed to allow wheelchair access. Doors are extra wide, rooms are spacious and allow for a turning circle, power points are a higher level. Wet rooms come with either a static or large wheeled shower chair. Additional disabled equipment can be provided - please request at time of booking.
Outside
Heated communal swimming pool 10 x 5 m with panoramic views over vineyards and sunflowers. Rural location ideal for outdoor pursuits with several randonnee tracks, mountain bikes are provided free of charge (children's, adult and baby seat). On-site horse and pony riding with qualified instructor - riding hats are provided. Child friendly enclosed courtyard with swings, slide, climbing frame and sandpit. Outdoor sand school, table tennis, badminton court and petanque. Each cottage has its own patio area with table, chairs and barbecue.
Lymerac is 5 minutes from Salles Lavalette a pretty village with church, post office, bakery, bar/restaurant – “La Cigale Charentaise”, delicatessen and a traiteur willing to cater and deliver for events and parties. There is also a working flour mill to visit, which provides some of the flour used in the bakery. Organic vegetables are available from the Friday market.
Coast/Beach
Royan is 90 minutes by car and has miles of sandy beaches and many seafood restaurants. North of Royan at La Palmyre is the largest and reputedly best zoo in France.
20 minutes away is the sand covered river beach at Aubeterre with open air restaurant and canoe hire. One of the 'plus beaux villages'. Aubeterre has several restaurants and a monolithic (subterranean) church.
Travel
Angouleme airport, 30 minutes flying to Stanstead. Bergerac airport, 1 hour 30 minutes flying to Southampton, Leeds, Exeter, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands, Liverpool and Stansted . Bordeaux airport, 1 hour 45 minutes flying to East Midlands, Manchester, Bristol and Gatwick.
Distances
Lymerac is 5 minutes from Salles Lavalette a pretty village with church, post office, bakery, bar / restaurant – “La Cigale Charentaise”, delicatessen and a traiteur willing to cater and deliver for events and parties. Villeboise Lavalette: Market town with English speaking doctor, banks, supermarket and shops is only 10 minutes away. Aubeterre: one of the plus beaux villages in France with cafes, restaurants and a sand covered river beach is 20 minutes away.

Brantome: Charming medieval town between the arms of the river Dronne with ancient monastery, grotto and canoeing.
St Emilion: Famous wine growing district with guided tours available around the many wine production chateaux. This medieval city with its narrow winding streets and cellars carved from the rock is well worth a visit.
Bordeaux: Wine, shopping, sightseeing and an international airport.
Poitiers: Futuroscope the cinematographic theme park is a must, with a variety of experiences to suit all ages.
