The Canal Du Midi which is a world heritage site is 2 miles from the property and Carcassonne with its twin walled medieval city is 15 minutes away by car.

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation comprises 8 double bedrooms 5 in the main house with 2 bathrooms and 3 in the gite with 2 bathrooms. The gite can be accessed through the games room or independently from the front and rear of the house. Both the kitchens are fully fitted and there are large fridges and freezers for the house and the gite as well as the normal kitchen fridges. Electric heating is available and there is a Jotul log burner in the main lounge with Jotul wall mounted log fire in the main dining room.An abundance of parking in front of the house and around the fish pond is available
Outside
Large 10 x 5 metre uv eco friendly heated swimming pool with electric cover and pool house adjoining the house. The pool house has an undercover area with a built in BBQ and separate wc and shower. There is a large pool terrace with dining for 8/10 with a further dining table for 8 situated on a lower terrace. A large gas Weber BBQ is situated at the pool dining area.Great lawned areas in front of the house one with plenty of shade are ideal for kids to play and there are 2 paddocks one on each side of the drive There are nine bikes available 5 adult and 4 for children of various ages.8 sun loungers are poolside together with outside pool shower and large pool terrace
Coast/Beach
The Mediterranean is 45 minutes away by car on the auto route A61. Spain is 1 hour 30 minutes away by car and Andorra about 2 hours.
Travel
15 minutes from Carcassonne airport. Driving times are as follows. St Malo 7 hours Caen 8 hours Le Havre 9 hours and Calais 10 hours. Ryanair fly to Carcassonne from Stanstead, East Midlands, Liverpool, Dublin and Cork.

Montreal is a mile from the house and all day to day provisions can be found in the local shops in the village.A supermarket is half a mile the other side of the village and there are numerous local caves where local wine can be bought and tasted within 15 minutes drive, the closest being 5 minutes away by car.Boat hire is available on the Canal Du Midi both daily and with sleeping accommodation for longer trips.There is also white water rafting and canoeing on the river Aude within a 45 minute drive.There is an 18 Hectare lake(Lac de la Cavayere) with a beach and swimming facilities about 30 minutes drive from the property. This is an ideal place for water sports, fishing, walking and childrens games.Also available there is Pedalo Hire, Miniature Golf, Beach Volley Ball and a Forestry Acrobatic Park. There are numerous local markets selling fresh produce throughout the year.These include Mirepoix (Monday am) set in a beautiful medieval square 20 minutes from the house, Bram (Wednesday am) 10 minutes away and Limoux (Friday am) 20 minutes by car.

In order to secure the booking 50 percent of the rental is required immediately with the balance due 6 weeks before the arrival date.A deposit of 500 Euros will also be required to cover breakages or damages.This will be returned within 14 days if there are no breakages or damages.Any replacements will be made and deducted from the deposit with proof of purchase if required.

From the minute we were on the driveway, we felt immediately at home in Cascaret. We appreciated the warm welcome to your beautiful Domaine. Both the kids and the adults thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, especially the very nice swimming pool.
