Formerly a traditional Breton farmhouse we have restored and renovated Ty Lucie (Lucie’s house) to provide a comfortable holiday home with French character.Situated in a quiet road in a pretty hamlet,the house is large, comfortable and "child friendly" enjoying a large private enclosed garden with a secure powerfully heated overground pool ,and a covered table tennis area outside. There is free broadband & UK Sat TV. The house is near Berrien which has a bar and a boulangerie/alimentation. A short drive takes you to Huelgoat, which offers a full range of restaurants, creperies, supermarkets etc as well as the lake, waterfalls, caves and the famous Roche Tremblant or trembling rock! The area surrounding forms part of the Monts d’ Arree and the Parc National D’Armorique an area of outstanding scenery. Picturesque Morlaix is 25 mins drive and beyond the beaches. This part of Finistere remains less commercialized and busy than other areas and offers a taste of real Breton culture.

| Living Rooms: | A staircase leads to a 25 sq ft mezzanine lounge with beamed ceiling. wooden floor, large open fireplace, armchairs and a large sofa. Satellite TV with Free Sat channels is available and a DVD player. There is a large range of toys and lego. |

Accessibility
Downstairs bedroom and bathroom and living area.
Outside
Large private enclosed garden and overground saltwater pool approx 5 metres in diameter 1.4 metres deep and also wood clad which offers additional insulation. The pool is genuinely warm as it has a powerful heater which can easily reach 28 degrees in summer months. Even on cloudy days the pool is very usable and guests have found this to be a real benefit. The pool is enclosed for child safety. It is serviced regularly for guests and available from May - end September. Outside there is a Patio area, barbecue, loungers and large table/chairs. The garden is approx 1/2 acre with apple trees and mature shrubs, including hydrangeas, camellias and roses and herbs. There is a covered games area with table tennis .
Coast/Beach
From Ty Lucie you can reach the three coasts of Brittany quite easily. The nearest is the north coast, Carantec a charming resort is about 35 minutes drive. The stunning beaches of the Crozon peninsula to the west are worth a visit as well as Brittany’s Lands End called Pointe du Raz. The south coast is nearer an hour’s drive but worth it to see such places as Concarneau and Pont Aven. Water sports and safe swimming are also available nearby at Lac Drennec 20 minutes drive.
Golf
Golf at Carantec approx 30 mins , and at Brest Iroise, Landerneau approx 45 mins.
Travel
Brittany Ferries to Roscoff (45 minutes), St Malo (2 hours), Caen (3 hours). We are able to offer you up to 10% discount on Brittany Ferries. Enquire when booking with owner.
Ferries also to Cherbourg (4 hours) , Le Havre (4.5 hours)
Calais (euro tunnel or ferry ) is 6.5 - 7 hours drive . Honfleur is a good overnight stop.
Flights by Ryanair Stansted, East Mids to Dinard.
Flybe B'ham , Exeter, Southampton (in spring/summer months) to Brest. Car hire available from airports.

Further details
There are very many places to visit in and around Finistere whilst the other departments of Bretagne are also easily reached. There are attractive towns such as Morlaix and Quimper, which offer a range of architectural and cultural attractions together with lively markets, shops and restaurants. For children there are a number of museums, animal parks and aquariums including Oceanopolis in Brest and Mamba Theme Park nearby. This part of Finistere is famous for the parish closes, which are visible in many of the smaller towns and villages of the area. There are several chateaux such as Trevarez close by and a number of botanical gardens such as Roscoff and Huelgoat to name a couple. Outdoor activities such as riding, cycling and golf and swimming are all catered for nearby. There is a lovely lake offering with sandy beaches and safe swimming 20 minutes drive at Drennec. Note it is not possible to hire bicycles anywhere nearby so cyclists should bring their own.

For those with children we are able to offer broadband so they can keep up to date on Facebook and Sky TV, for those seeking a complete getaway we can guarantee a peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought the house because we had explored and come to love this area of Finistere which remains essentially unspoilt and very Breton. The location of Ty Lucie allows you to have peace and quiet within a friendly hamlet but not far from all local facilities in the pretty town of Huelgoat. The lakeside creperies in Huelgoat are great for a coffee or evening drink. The beaches are fabulous whichever direction you go in and we love Morlaix especially for its restaurants, architecture and its Saturday market which goes right through the town.
Unique benefits of the property
The boulangerie at Berrien also stocks grocery items and fresh cakes etc at the weekend. There are two supermarkets in Huelgoat, plus all the other local shops you might need. The pool at Ty Lucie is warm and safe which our guests remark upon often. We have wireless internet and satellite TV.
