Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Any extended rentals will be considered for a discounted rate along with repeat rentals.

Changeover day
Saturday preferred changeover day. Arrive after 3pm and depart before 10am. All are flexible depending on availability. We are happy to consider short breaks. Early and late arrivals will be subject to a supplement.

Bathrooms: Bathroom with shower in bath and large vanity unit. Washer/dryer integrated under unit and large heated towel ladder.
Kitchen: The kitchen is very well equipped and includes a large fridge freezer, full size oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, espresso machine, kettle.
Living Rooms: The living area is open plan with the kitchen and dining area and has a double sofa bed. It has a flat screen TV/DVD. Double doors lead off this area, onto the south westerly facing terrace, with great views. Wifi internet access is available on request.
Other: There is the full use of a heated underground parking space and ski locker for the duration of your stay. we can also provide the use of a telephone at an additional charge for unlimited calls to uk.

The apartment will be checked at the end of your stay, cleaned and left ready for the next guests. Duvets and linen are provided but we ask you to bring your own towels. The basic cleaning fee is included in the rental fee. Additional charges may occur.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is excellent for families with young children as it is situated on the ground floor and in a secure residential complex with no thoroughfare. There is a great creche within walking distance along with supermarkets, shops, and other amenities including a cinema.

Accessibility
Although the apartment is not constructed or adapted for disabled use, it is on the ground floor and does have a lift to the parking facility.

Outside
There is a large south by southwest facing terrace which looks towards the ski fields of the Grand Massif. The terrace will be surrounded by a landscaped garden with a lawned area. There will be patio furniture provided.

Coast/Beach
In summer there is a man made beach in Morillion, 6kms away.

Golf
4 golf courses within 1 hour including Les Gets which is amazing as you play along the pistes you ski in the winter months.

Skiing
The apartment is 10 minutes walk from the Grand Massif Express ski lift that takes you to Samoens 1600m in only 8 minutes. Here you will find a great selection of runs to suit all abilities in the 265km of pistes which make up the Grand Massif ski area. In the valley there are also 90km of marked cross country trails. There is a brand new lift to take you to the top of the resort in no time replacing 2 old and slow lifts. the lift system is great for snowboarders as there are very few drag lifts and mostly chair lifts throughout.

Special interest holidays
Walking and mountain biking have become extremely popular in the area over the last few years. The apartment sits at the start of the famous "Col de Joux Plane" which is a fantastic road ascent to 1700m for those keen road cyclists. One of the hardest rides in France, offering a real test and some breath taking scenery. In terms of waking, there is little need for a car as there are over 30 walks for all abilities right from the front door. Mountain biking is now well catered for with 20 signed routes from green to black within 10 minutes ride of the apartment. We had full literature available on request.

Travel
Geneva airport is 1 hour. Easy Jet fly from a number of English airports as do BMI baby. There are lots of hire car companies at the airport or transfers can be arranged. There is also a bus service from the airport to Taninges (with the SAT bus company and costs about 25 euro) and then on for the last 13kms in a taxi. Also, Morzexpress runs a minibus service for 25 euro each way to the airport from Taninges. The train reaches Cluses which is 20kms from the resort.

Distances
Les Ecrins Etoiles is less than 1 hour away from Geneva airport by car, Calais is an 8 hour drive from Samoens. The apartment is in Samoens village centre. Cluses is 20kms. Chamonix is 45 mins and that includes the tunnel across to Italy which costs 33 euros and takes you to the beautiful Aosta valley.

Further details
The village of Samoens has everything you need to have a great holiday. There is a wide selection of most shops. Ski hire is easy, there are 3 supermarkets, 2 within 5 minutes walk and an out of town Carrefour. There is a great bakers, butchers and pharmacy, all within walking distance. Banks are found throughout the village and the nearest ATM is 30 seconds away. There are too many great restaurants to name but a list of them with telephone numbers can be found in the apartment.

About the owner
Our family lives in the UK but spends as much time as we can in the French Alps. After much searching, we stumbled across the beautiful village of Samoens and decided that it had everything that a family would want from a resort in both the Winter and the Summer. We have 3 kids, from the ago of 13 down to 1 so it was important that there was enough on offer to keep all three busy, whilst allowing my wife and I a holiday to! If you are into the outdoor life or just want to relax in the clean air of the Alps, Samoens really is the place to visit. So far unspoilt by the overcrowding that some of the other French resorts suffer from, there are times in January and March that you can be skiing in the Grand Massif and think there is no one else there.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought this property 3 years ago when the plans were first released and although it is only just finished, we have spent the last 3 ski seasons in the village and last summer as well. We love the area so much as it offers things to do for both of us as well as our 3 kids. Winter time is beautiful and the skiing is great for all abilities. Summer was a real surprise as there is actually more to do than in winter. The area is just developing it's mountain biking potential and as well there is parapenting, rafting, climbing and of course walking. All in all you can see why the resort has just been voted 'Best Small Resort' in Europe by the famous Hardy's Skiing & Snowboarding Guide 2009 and also attained the "famille plus montagne award. The resort is less than 1hr from geneva

This two bed, ground floor apartment is BRAND NEW, finished for the 2009-10 season and ready to rent, fully furnished from January 2010. The apartment sleeps 4/6 persons and has a double bedroom with large wardrobe, cable tv and radio, a twin room with bunkbeds and large storage along with a double pull out bed in the living room. It is finished to a very high standard with a rustic feel and because it it owned by a family, it has everything a family would need to have a great week away. The living area has a TV/DVD combo with a selection of DVDs. The apartment is situated in the centre of Samoens village and within a minutes walk from the square and 5 minutes from the ski lift. There is also a ski bus stop outside the apartment.
