Skiing
Sainte Foy is one of the most exclusive ski resorts in France and is often referred to as the Jewel in the Crown of the French Alps. Its location within the heart of one of the world's largest ski areas puts it in a class of its own. There are rarely any queues for ski lifts whilst the pistes are uncongested with some wonderful skiing on piste of all grades and excellent off piste with plenty of powder. Most slopes face north or west and hold their snow well; there is good powder long after it has been skied out in other busier resorts. Sainte Foy is located at 1550m to 2650m and surrounded by famous resorts, Tignes, Les Arcs and Val D'Isere are 15-20 minutes journey. The resort offers wide slopes with plenty of possibilities for beginners through to experienced skiers and boarders and is especially ideal for families. With new lifts added in 2006, runs have been opened up on the west side of the mountain.
Special interest holidays
In summer the resort offers a perfect peaceful getaway for those looking to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside and offers easy access to explore the region with its many small attractive hamlets and villages. Sainte Foy and the surrounding area offer plenty of alternative activities to tempt you. The River Isere runs through the Tarentaise valley where there is white water rafting, canoeing and body board surfing. Wild water sports are also to be found in the Aosta Valley. Walking and hiking using some of the 70kms of nearby footpaths.
Pony and horse riding. Rock climbing. Plenty of possibilities for all abilities. Climbing school and wall at Le Pre. Spa & Fitness using the full range of leisure activities available to guests staying at Chalet La Vanoise.
Other activities locally include mountain bike hire, tennis, volleyball, fishing, paragliding and more.
