This is our 2nd home and has more than a standard ski apartment would offer. Prices include free internet and sky freesat. We have electric wall heaters and a stand alone heater if needed. The flat is on the fifth floor of a modern apartment complex with windows in most rooms, affording stunning views overlooking the Venosc Valley and Parc d’Oisans. The bedroom, bathroom and sitting room all have windows. The bathroom has a 3/4 length bath with a dual hand held / top drench shower attachment and full size wash basin. Separate toilet. Entrance hall has an upper single bed, and underneath there is both hanging space and shelving. The double aspect sitting room with TV / DVD (with Sky Freesat) has a corner kitchen area (new), new dishwasher & electric hob, microwave-combi oven and a fridge. There is L shaped seating, the sofa converts to a double bed or two singles. You can ski from the back of the building, either from the 6th floor, or from the ski room on the 3rd floor.

Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday. Arrival time after 2pm/departure time before 10am. We are flexible with dates, depending on the booking schedule.

Bedrooms: 1 bedroom double mattress which can unzip into 2 singles with built in wardrobe. Under bed storage. Window with great view.
Sofa bed in sitting room, can be used for two single or one double bed.
Bunk bed in entrance hall - one bed, storage underneath.
Bathrooms: 3/4 length bath. Hand held and fixed shower. Excellent pressure, unlimited hot water. Large sink. Window - look at the alps when you shower!
Kitchen: New Dishwasher, full electric hob, microwave combi oven, kettle as well as fridge. Large selection utensils and crockery and fondue set; sandwich maker; toaster.
Utility Room: Ironing board, iron, hairdryer, tongs, and a vacuum can be found in the utility cupboard. Electric central heating.
Living Rooms: Sunny room with large French window opening onto wrap around balcony, and side window. Sofa bed which can be used as a double or two singles. Full size table, five chairs, small cabinet.
Other: Separate toilet.

Cleaning prior to arrival and on departure as standard. A further clean during your stay can be arranged. Linen hire (compulsory) is to be paid for locally at 15 euros per person per week, blankets and pillow; towels bookable at 10 euros per towel.

Skiing
The Winter season is from late November November 2011 to end of April 2012. Providing there is sufficient snow in the winter, it is possible to ski from and back to the flat from the weekend before Christmas until mid April. Ski hire, lift passes and lessons can be pre-arranged at a discounted rate. We provide a welcome pack with piste maps and local information. We recommend Charlotte Swift of Easiski, who will meet and welcome you, as an inspirational teacher. Les Deux Alpes village is at 1650m and has a large amount of skiing from 1300m - 3600m suitable for all abilities. The runs on the glacier are wide and suitable for beginners and intermediates. The more challenging runs are mainly coming back down to the village. The snow park is the largest in Europe and has a huge variety of jumps, runs and half-pipes.

Travel
Nearest airports are Lyon and Grenoble with regular flights from all the UK airports to both. Bus links from both airports plus car hire available (Public bus service from Grenoble is the 3030).
Airport to 2 alpes
You could be at the resort in under 2 hours from Lyon. You could also fly to Chambery, Geneva and Turin. Les Deux Alpes is approximately 8-9 hour drive from Calais and easily accessible by car.

Distances
Mont de Lans (chair lift or free bus down) market on Wednesday mornings
Venosc (visible from the flat), an authentic alpine village accessible by foot in the summer, or via the telecabine (free with a lift pass) in the winter and summer, a worthwhile visit.
Bourg d'Oisans 40 minutes drive, excellent market on Saturdays.
Alpe d'Huez is 32km. Serre Chevalier 67km. Valloire 62km. Montgenevre and the Italian Alps 74km.

Further details
Food and restaurants. Bread and croissants can be ordered from the reception for picking up the next morning. Local pizzerias deliver to the apartment. There are loads of restaurants within walking distance serving local and international cuisine, crepes, snacks and coffees. We suggest you try the Raison d'Ours, Il Caminetto, La Spaghetteria or Creperie Les Sagnes. At the top end of the market there is Chalet Mounier. There is a wide range of restaurants to suit all tastes throughout the ski area, both at glacier, mid station and at resort level. Winter activities - Descent to La Grave, take a helicopter to Alpes d'Huez. Summer activities - mountain biking, paragliding, white water rafting, skating, swimming, ice gliding, tennis, rock climbing, golf, trampolining, bungee jumping, adventure park, luge, horse riding and more events arranged weekly by the resort. For bargain out of season rates, ideal opportunities for walkers, cyclists, artists and photographers to enjoy the fantastic mountain scenery - see the out of season rates.

Booking notes
Prices in £'s per week. 20% off 2nd week. Deposit of 20% of the total cost required to confirm a booking, balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. Bookings made within 8 weeks of departure date require full payment. Cancellation. Deposits are refundable on the following basis. Weeks prior to departure: 16- 100%, 12- 75%, 10- 50%. 8 weeks - 0%. A deposit of £250 is payable locally, fully refundable at the end of your stay provided the apartment is left as it is found.

We live and work in London, but frequently use our flat and will often be there personally to make sure everything is in order for your arrival. We like to think our flat is more welcoming and homely that the standard flats available.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
After years of Summer and Winter skiing decided to buy. Many flats seemed to have something wrong with them (noise, position, no/poor view, lighting, accessibility etc.). We immediately knew this flat was the one, the moment we saw it. With stunning views in a quiet area, it is very well designed for the space, with a separate bathroom, and toilet. With a wrap around balcony you can sunbath in both the morning and afternoon and until much later in the day compared with property lower down (sun lounger provided). We like to think we have one of the best views in Deux Alpes. Even on a blustery day, its fun looking at the clouds swirl up from the valley below. We always enjoy the sunsets, having a sundowner as we watch the shadow rise up the mountain opposite. We know you will too.

Unique benefits of the property
We have built a raised platform in the bedroom so we can lie in bed & enjoy the views. A better shower has been installed, & we have a 3/4 length bath which is ideal for a long soak. We have left lots of DVDs & books for you use. There is a TV/DVD and we have an internet connection with Orange (French Telecom). The lounge area has cushions which can be used anywhere. With a full size dishwasher & combi microwave oven, comfort is assured. There is plenty of hanging & storage space. The ski room (3rd floor) has direct access to the piste. Our flat offers a very sunny disposition, a large balcony & views from the bedroom, bathroom & lounge. Unbeatable views. We leave a welcome pack with local tourist office leaflets, maps & other information such as web links we consider essential.
